Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 45: Mastermind, Part 4

...—Crocos, Desert Kingdom—...

Qibtya was just about to return from the balcony of the palace tower when suddenly Venia called out to him in a voice like someone who had just seen an astonishing thing. He spontaneously turned around, and at once he fell silent with widened eyes and a panicked face. Neither he nor Venia could say anything.

The elongated Amerlesia Mountains had now disappeared, smashing down in less than a second. The pitch-black darkness gnawed at him in an instant and then disappeared without a trace.

And a few minutes later, the deafening sound of an explosion struck the entirety of the Desert Kingdom. The shock waves caused by the explosion made the sand waver like a tsunami that was ready to destroy the beach. The distance was still far, indeed, but if left unchecked then the Desert Kingdom would vanish after that wave of sand passed through them.

“Venia!” yelled Qibtya who had regained consciousness from his shock.

Venia Moon immediately responded to the queen's cry. If anyone could save their kingdom, it was just him. Venia leapt from the balcony and climbed up the sand cloud, then slid sharply to the east.

...—Magic City Maidenhair—...

There was nothing closer to the source of the explosion than the magic city that Gefory Lharkantz was administering. However, their queen took swift action. With its great magic, the Swamp Wet Forest became a living shield that blocked the penetration of the shockwave that the explosion caused. Other countries should be grateful for the services of their queen.

“Who fought to inflict devastation on that enormous scale?”

Gefory knows the war is going on. However, the location of the battle was in the northeast direction. Not one bit he expected the fight would happen in the largest mountain range in Islan. This was shocking, and he was worried that the war would also reach the gates of their city.

“Back doing your thing,” said Eileithyia who landed a few meters in front of the grandmaster. “Nothing you need to worry about,” he added as it passed.

“Ah, if Your Majesty has already said so, there is really nothing we need to worry about.”

True, Gefory again reminded himself, there is no place safer than this city.

...* * *...

Xavier looked at the effect that the Turn Null caused from a height of ten kilometers. It had bounced far enough due to the shockwave that the spell released. The explosion into the air was larger than the surroundings; if Xavier had not used [Reverse Law], he might have bounced off into space. If the explosion didn't kill him, maybe the air absence would.

Or don't. [Reverse Law] might be able to turn a vacuum into an airy space. He had never tried it, so Xavier couldn't be sure.

Xavier floated for quite a long time at a height of ten thousand meters. With no barrier in the way, the Turn Null effect is truly remarkable. He should thank Eileithyia and Venia; if it were not for them, perhaps his attack would have helped wipe out the country around the mountains. Including the city of Verada that he was supposed to protect.

As soon as the dust and smoke cleared, Xavier's eyes saw clearly how his Turn Null created a giant crater with a central section spanning more than two kilometers. There was nothing but red lava that glowed and cooled rapidly, making it a dark black color.

Xavier brought his body down, then swooped and slid rapidly downwards. He stopped just as his body was flattened to the edge of the crater. His image explores the surroundings, its sensory magic combing through everything within its limited range.

Niente. Xavier didn't see anyone. He felt nothing either. Even that cube of black energy had vanished without a trace. Did his Turn Null manage to obliterate everything?

What his sense of perception supports the truth of the question, but Xavier himself hesitates. He thinks it's too easy if it's true. The Null Turn is very powerful, but this spell is still not perfect. It was not impossible to overcome, let alone Lucifer having a [Complete Annihilation]. Xavier had even imagined Lucifer in a kneeling state with a body injured for withstanding the shattered power of his spell.

“What is he me—”

Xavier did not continue. That's not what he needs. He doesn't need to think any further. He can feel it. The air temperature dropped very quickly, the ground level had even hardened and let out a cold like dry ice.

The presence was so strong that it made Dragonoid Nueva like a puppy had been a dozen meters behind Xavier.

...—Eden, Emiliel Holy Kingdom—...

Sataniciela looked down at Gawain's helpless body. The Saint had been battered and his body was filled with gaping injuries. Impressively, he is not dead yet, but will die if he does not get treatment soon. Although Sataniciela admits Gawain is powerful, she would not be kind enough to have Lumeira heal him. Aside from the fact that Lumeira herself was exhausted, Gawain would no longer be able to fight despite being healed.

Sataniciela kicked her head while grieving before turning around. Lumeira looks messy, but strangely she looks sexy. Of course Sataniciela wouldn't say that; lumeira would have misunderstood if that was what she said. More than that, they need to move to another city.

“Let's go, you can rest as good—!”

Sataniciela fell silent suddenly with widened eyes.

He felt the presence of the gates of hell, but in just an instant he thought it was just his feeling. But this time, it can't be wrong. No one hates that man more than Sataniciela. He hates Luciel, but he hates the creature more. Because of her hatred, Sataniciela will be able to feel the presence of the creature even though she is on another continent though.

“You do as you please, Lumeira, I have business.”

Sataniciela went live on the air without giving Lumeira a chance to ask. It slid straight south, but then it turned sharply southeast. Lumeira could not guess where the demon was going.

...* * *...

Xavier tried to turn around, but he struggled. Such a huge surge of energy bombarded his body as if trying to make him kneel. Xavier can only turn around after the owner of the energy stops his action.

And immediately Xavier frowned with cold sweat filling the temple. He is not ashamed to say he feels threatened. He was even sure the Grand Order would not be able to just make the man stay in his place.

“The attack was quite interesting,” praise the man. “While it was just ordinary magic, but you managed to destroy Edward's body without a trace. What was the name of the attack, Commander Xavier?”

Doggone. Xavier had no other words to think about. This is really fucked. Xavier couldn't think he could beat the creature. Even if he relied on the strength within him, Xavier hesitated about winning. He understood why Lucifer had not fought back before: Lucifer did not have to.

Waist-white hair with the same model as Luciel. Twelve pairs of gray wings, the perfect blend of black and white. White albino skin with dark stripes that form dragon scales. The same eyes as Nueva's after-evolving eyes looked at her with interest. And most obviously, the face was eleven twelve with Luciel.

“Lucifer.” Xavier muttered, the twitching on his forehead increased. “Your wings are no longer black.”
