The Faculty of Architectural Engineering has a program called field lectures. In this field lecture, students will be invited to one of the ongoing development projects. The goal is so that students can develop imagination, creativity, and the shadow power of the room. This time, Arsyilla brought students who were taught in the Architecture Research and Design course to Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta which is being revitalized.
“We will prepare to go to Taman Ismail Marzuki by bus from campus. While there later, you can directly see the planning process of a project. I hope, students will be active and do not hesitate to ask,” instruction from Arsyilla to all students.
Seemed students who greeted him with joy, some were just ordinary. However, the most important thing is that teaching and learning activities today can take place and students have real shadows about Planning and Architectural Design.
The students entered the bus first and looked for seats, while Arsyilla was still waiting outside to get on the bus.
“Sit with me?” aksara degan lirih to Arsyilla. The man is currently standing behind Arsyilla.
But Arsyilla was silent. Not wanting to look too conspicuous in front of his students. After all he's a problem too, he's got to sit with who's on the bus. After all, the trip is still in the city and will not be long.
Apparently, when it was his turn to enter the bus, the entire seat was almost filled. There are only two seats left behind the driver. Arsyilla seemed to let out a sigh, and then she took one seat behind the driver for her to sit down on. After that, Aksara was also relaxed, directly sitting next to Arsyilla.
Arsyilla who turned her eyes, what if the students actually talked about them. Really, Arsyilla did not feel calm to have to sit with Aksara in one chair. Even if the man is actually her husband, it's just that the rules that apply on campus are not the same as off-campus.
“Wah, Bu Arsyilla sit the same Bang Aksara ya?” ask the students who suddenly sounded like that.
“This is the only seat left,” replied Arsyilla while standing, it does not taste good. However, the remaining seats left only one bench. For this reason, inevitably Arsyilla must sit on a bench with Aksara.
The man pulled out his phone from his pants pocket, and typed a message to Arsyilla.
[To: Arshilla]
[You calm down.]
[Students won't think strangely.]
[Important that I can sit with my wife.]
The message then went to Arsyilla. Funny indeed, but despite already sitting one seat, Aksara actually chose to communicate with Arsyilla by using the messaging application on his phone.
Feeling the vibration on the phone, Arsyilla then took the phone from the bag. The woman frowned as she read every message from the Aksara. Not replying to the message, but only glancing at the student as well as her husband with the glare of her sharp eyes. Just be careful, in the apartment later Arsyilla will make calculations with her husband.
The University bus eventually drove and combed the streets of the Capital, until finally the group had arrived at Ismail Marzuki Park. Indeed, the government is carrying out the revitalization project of Taman Ismail Marzuki, this revitalization activity aims to make Taman Ismail Marzuki as the best educational and artistic tourism center in the Capital.
Arsyilla's entourage was well received by one of the in charge of the revitalization project.
“Welcome Bu Arsyilla and all students,” greet Mr. Harmoko who represents from the person in charge of revitalization that.
“Yes, we've been in Ismail Marzuki Park yes … revitalization of Taman Ismail Marzuki is carrying the concept of mixed-use building so that in the future this TEAM can become an Urban Art Center and Crative Hub in the Capital and even Indonesia,” explained Pak Harmoko to all of them.
After that, Mr. Harmoko brought the entire group to visit the Planetarium and Art Creation Center which has been completed almost 86%. At that place, Mr. Harmoko explained the usefulness of the Planetarium in the future. Then, they also see the Annex Gallery which has been completed 100%. It is clear that the concept of mixed use building is in every building that is in the TEAM.
“There are questions to ask Mr Harmoko?” ask Arsyilla now to her students.
Apparently the students actually looked down his face. Feeling that no one wanted to ask, Arsyilla then looked at Aksara who was also staring at him. From the glare of Arsyilla's eyeballs, as if the lecturer was telling her to ask.
“I, Ms. Arsyilla .. I want to ask,” finally Aksara opened her voice while raising her hand.
Arsyilla nodded, “Ya, please,” he replied.
“Pak Harmoko, why to make Taman Ismail Marzuki as Urban Art Centre, the concept carried is precisely mixed use building?” ask this time.
Hearing the question from Aksara, Arsyilla nodded, in her heart that was actually the question she wanted to ask, but apparently Aksara had already asked her first, so the question was already represented.
Mr. Harmoko then nodded, “Mixed use building or multifunctional building is one of the design approach efforts that seeks to unite various activities and functions that are in the area of a city that has a limited area, such as, relatively expensive purchase price, strategic land location, and high economic value. So in the future, Taman Ismail Marzuki is not only for educational tourism, but here can be an art show, shopping tours, and so on. Everything will be in one area,” replied Mr. Harmoko.
“So more for the effectiveness of the building and land that is being realized by the property in charge to develop the region huh Pak?” ask Aksara again.
As a person who has been involved for several years in the field of architecture and property, Aksara actually knows enough that multifunctional building design can better accommodate the wishes of the community today. So, the question is only to represent students who are reluctant to ask.
About two hours later, the group surrounded Ismail Marzuki Park, and now Arsyilla said goodbye to Mr. Harmoko.
“Thank you sir, we've been well received here,” he said.
“Yes, same as Bu Arsyilla,” said Mr. Harmoko.
Afterwards, the student returned anti to enter the bus and return to campus. Arsyilla looked relieved because the field lecture this time could be said to be smooth. He just had to compile a report on the results of this field lecture.
In this bus, apparently Arsyilla again had to sit with Aksara. It might be because Aksara is older than other students, many students are reluctant to him. Even the students called Aksara with the name of Brother or Bang, but how else the age of Aksara is not the age of college children anymore.
“Intentionally yes?” said Arsyilla half-whispered as she had to go back to sitting on a bench with her husband.
Aksara simply smiled, and then carried her backpack in her lap. “Destiny,” answer.
Arsyilla just fiddled his eyes, how could such a fortress Aksara answer so. At least they still have to keep a distance from each other, because of the transverse line between a Lecturer and his students.
