Chapter 16: The Squid Monster

The loud swings of their two weapons created waves of slashes, coincidentally slashing at the monsters beside them, slashing the monster's body to cause numerous bursts of blood.

“You have good reflexes, samurai comrade,” trivial Mardin while trying to push his cleaver.

Mardin and the man both slashed at the pangolin monster out of annoyance at their interaction being interrupted by it.

“So?” Mardin casually demanded an answer.

“I want to convey something very important to you, Mardin. But first, introduce me, I'm Haku. And I'm not a real person here.”

“It seems, he's the king of this party,” comments Haku while wagging his katana dirty by blood.

“Iya…. He's the conqueror of women. You just see how big and shiny the tentacles are,” the half-sniffled Mardin god.

Mardin looked carefully at the head of the squid. True said Haku, there were indeed five yellowish circles on several sides of the monster's head.

“Pistol Blaster.” Mardin turned one holographic machete into a pistol. “Laser Cutter!”

Using laser-cutting bursts from the hologram gun, Mardin slashed through the ranks of monsters around Haku to pave the way for the silver-haired man to attack the squid monster.

Jumping past the blood spurts from the pieces of the monster's body, Haku immediately ran over one of the tentacles, approached the monster, then jumped high up on its head.

Unfortunately, one tentacle was about to grab Haku's leg. The closer, the closer, and the closer it will reach his feet.

“Capture!”

Mardin caught Haku's hand, carrying the man flying slightly away upwards. If only Mardin had not been captured, Haku might have been dragged by the monster tentacles.

Mardin threw Haku high up into the sky. Haku's face did not show a tense expression at all, but remained flat feeling familiar with what he was doing now.

Haku spun in the air, turning around in a position ready to plunge down.

All of Haku's katana was shrouded in pink light, its attack power further strengthened. And after that, Haku darted as fast as possible down accompanied by a slight gust of cherry blossom petals around him.

Mardin excited himself when he saw Haku darting past him. This young man also did not want to lose.

Haku plunged into the top of the yellow circle on the head of the squid monster using a pink katana, followed by Mardin who also gave slashes using a blue machete.

Haku and Mardin land well on the road, and Mardin's skyboard catches him as he falls from the sky.
