This afternoon, Rey did not find her mother in the kitchen nor in the laundry room. And so is Doni. There was only Kak Nay who was sifting through clothes to grind in the front room.
On the front porch there was also only Dad who was breathing fresh air. The man sat in his wheelchair. His body is getting thinner wrapped in sarongs and sweaters. This morning, the weather was very cold.
"Sister, mom and Doni don't exist. Where are they going?"
"Mom's home last night, grandpa,"
"Grandfather's sick?" ask Rey curiously
"Ga knows. I just said I'd go there after Bude called,"
"Oh,"
"Mom said no, when do you want to go home?" ask Rey curiously.
"No. But it doesn't seem like long. They didn't just bring one shirt stel to change,"
"Oh" Rey said again.
Rey did not continue the question. He went back to the kitchen to get his job done.
There is still a pile of dishwashing, not to mention preparing breakfast.
Just come home, Rey can't find anyone in this house. Dad's been snoring finely in his room. Nay is also in his room. No one knows if Rey got home at 23:00 alone in a shabby state.
Rey took a deep breath. Remembering the events last night made his heart become unsettled.
"What's mom's attitude if Aldy told me about last night's incident?"
"Yes, God. Why am I being scared like this?"
Not yet finished thinking, Rey heard someone coming. It was his mother's voice talking to him. Mom came along with the sound of the motor that Doni was carrying.
I looked for Rey all over the room. Once he found Rey washing the dishes, he dragged her into the room.
"Here, You,"
Mom blocks Rey's collar and drags her into the room.
His face looked wrathful, his eyes looking as if he wanted to suppress his enemy alive.
"Shelf..," the sound of the door slamming loudly.
"What did you do last night, stupid boy?" snapped the mother with a stifled voice but with a tone that was so holding back anger. The body of Rey who was so frightened on the bed.
"Why can you ruin an event Aldy's already arranged. Your chance. Aldy will introduce her to his extended family. See now. You ruined everything. Can I hold back on this stupidity of yours!" hardik mom with a higher tone.
"Rey,"
"Why are you so stupid?" scream mom again.
Although the mother's voice was not so loud, but when she slammed the door of Rey's room made the whole house run towards Rey's room.
No one could see what was going on inside because mom locked the room. Nay and Doni were so curious, just put their ears behind the door of the room.
Father also heard the tempest in his house. Slowly he pedaled his wheelchair closer to his daughter's room.
"Mom, open the door!" pinta dad slowly.
"We're talking good, Mom!"
"Don't you piss your son off like that!"
"Try thinking now. How can I defend you in front of Aldy. He was very disappointed. What if he changes his mind?"
No answer came out of Rey's mouth. There was precisely the sound of her crying sobbing.
"Stop crying. I'm asking you to think!" oceh mother.
"Aldy has given you an honorable position. But how dare you make things without mother's knowledge. Rey's..... Are you going to kill mom?" Shouted mom again.
"I'm sorry Rey, Mom,"
"Rey's sorry,"
Rey's crying is getting better. My mother's voice was not heard anymore. I tried to knock on the door and called to my mother in a voice full of persuasion.
"Mom, comeon. Open the door," persuade me again.
"Don't think of yourself. Remember Dad. Remember your brother's future too. Aldy has promised mom will take care of all the needs of Doni school to college. Are you willing to see this one and only boy has no future. I'm tired of Rey. Dad's sick. It costs money to get treatment. Don't you want to be kind to us?" mother's voice grew louder and her sobs began to break.
"I'm sorry Rey, Mom,"
Rey hugged her mother. Fear has now turned into pity. He could not bear to see the mother he loved so much had to cry because of her actions.
"I'm sorry Rey, Mom. Rey promised not to repeat the mistake again. What you asked Rey to do. Including if mom asked me to kneel with Aldy,"
Rey's voice was heavy. He is not sure of his words. But the one he wanted. Her mother could stop crying and forgive her.
"Aldy's a good boy Rey. Why are you so selfish. I only think about your happiness and our family. Be sure that once you marry her, everything will be fine,"
"Yes Mom. If you want that, Rey will follow. Mother don't cry. Rey doesn't want mom and dad to be sad" Rey hugs her mother.
For a long time they sobbed together until they said sorry to each other. Nay, Doni and Dad are waiting in front of the room. They can only look at each other. No one knows what caused the commotion between Mother and Rey inside.
Until the two of them came out, the three of them just broke up. Rey continues her work in the back, while the mother is asked by the father to go to the room.
Dad needs an explanation of what his wife and daughter fuss about this early. Especially the name Aldy.

During the day, Rey begs to say goodbye to her mother wants to play at her school friend's house.
"Mom, Rey wants to play with a friend. Can ya?" ask Rey carefully.
Mother did not immediately answer, she still cleaned the laundry that had been ironed into clear plastic.
"Where?" ask mom
"To Dian's house!" answer Rey briefly.
"Go away, don't be so late in the afternoon,"
My mother did not forbid it. Mom gave Rey a chance so she could think about this. Who knows after he met his friend, he could be sane again.
"Rey promised to go home before magrib. Dian's house is far away, Mom. Take the freight twice from here,"
"Go away. Remember. Use your sane brain. I hope that after meeting your friend you don't do anything silly anymore,"
Rey was silent. She kissed her mother's hand and left the house after the passing public transport stopped because of her screams.
Rey was so anxious to calm herself down after the commotion this morning. He wants to release the burden of the mind just by meeting and sharing a little grievance with his best friend.
Rey is not the type of person who is open to personal and family affairs but when there is a problem he is actually looking for people who can be spoken to even though only limited to chatting.
