Gerald looked down into the well with a squint to see more clearly. His eyes were trying to highlight the dimness below. The well turned out to have a depth of no more than five meters.
"Damn!" Gerald cursed between regret and annoyed at not finding the figure of the woman he wanted to help earlier. There are only crustal loops on the ground of brown sugar. The walls are too steep to descend because of the shape of the well that widens at the bottom like a bottle. Human sucker bottles are submerged underground. Finding the facts mixed with the ridiculous opinion, Gerald's gaze tried to comb along the wall whether there was some kind of hidden cave down there. However, his visibility pounded the darkness. There was a blind spot in the well that was unattainable by sight.
Gerald quickly left the well and went out of the forest. He headed for his abandoned motorcycle there, then returned to the patrol car to conduct radio communication to the center. He will deploy an evacuation team to descend to explore the depths of the bottle.
...***...
Nina's hand slips from the helper's hand like her life slips just like it does on the precipitous destiny she failed to climb. Nina thought she would survive thanks to the appearance of a shady-eyed stranger like the night sky - hoping to hide in the grip of power possessed by the man's big fingers. But fate is back to betrayal. He forgot that no one could pull him from the threat of darkness being drawn towards him like a magnetic coil. Since long ago, his life has always been unlucky.
And, the bad luck was more perfect when Nina landed in a place that she was not at all familiar. But at least, the land that greeted his body was not as sick as the base of a luxurious bathtub in the Ricci family villa that almost became his coffin. Nina doesn't know a worse place than her husband's house. Unfortunately, the police are fooled by the double-faced rot of Olivia and Naomi. Their theatrical talent is worthy of thumbs up as well as curses.
A flash of light suddenly startled Nina. He blinked for a moment because of the glare and raised his palm above his head as a shield. After his eyes had adapted, he could see on the ceiling, the hole where he had fallen had been replaced by a full moon surrounded by a halo of layers and swallowed up the surrounding diamond-like stars. The place was actually not too scary, if Nina did not remember that she had fallen into a well.
"Welcome to the underground world of room number thirteen, Miss Polkadot Pink!"
"Byeah!" Nina screamed loudly when someone greeted her. Not just that. As soon as Nina took her eyes off, she was suddenly magically stranded in a crowded place full of young people dancing on the dance floor like a nightclub. The beautiful moon in the sky had changed into a sparkling disco light bulb. The loud music frenzy that was pounding from the DJ's glass booth in front of the stage, pierced both of his sensitive ears. Nina hates places like this. The place is actually very popular with Nolan for parties all night and full of women. That's why.
"Hello?" Nina was trying to find the whereabouts of the person who spoke earlier. It was unmoved in its relatively loose spot in the middle of the sea of humans. Nina was too afraid to move and was dragged into the violent currents of people dancing incessantly as if they were toy dolls filled with long-lasting batteries. No. gabe. Nina had experienced it once for the sake of trailing Nolan first during the early days of marriage. His whole body was bruised and sick squashed here and there. No one at that time would listen to the request of a girl from the tiny version of Caucasian descent to be given a way.
The noise around made Nina's eyes twitch. His search got lost among the heads that kept swaying to and fro and the light from the crazy turns of the disco lights in the center of the room. Nina's head is about to break.
"Hey, I'm here!"
Someone stabbed Nina's navel area with an index finger until the woman reflexively hugged her stomach. Then Nina could see who did it. A little boy with a jump suit and a rabbit-ear-shaped hoodie that was longer than the size of his head, was staring at Nina with annoyance.
"Ah, there's a little boy!" nina couldn't believe it.
"Don't be so reckless! I'm older than you, Little Girl!"
Nina kept her mouth shut, growing in disbelief. However, the roaring male voice that came out from the mouth of the boy in front of him did not sound like the voice of a child at all.
"Why do you look like a kid?" show Nina confused. The little rabbit-costumed man snorted while gagging his waist. He doesn't seem happy. "Because you have a protector capable of turning my true form into a dwarf!"
"I don't understand what you mean, Dik-Master." Nina hurriedly corrected her words.
"really. That's not important. But, you've come to the right place to hide from whatever makes you run away scared like a ghost."
"Why do you talk about ghosts?" Nina was scared. His palms tightly closed both earlobes. The little man in front of him even chuckled amusedly.
"Who do you think the people around you are?"
The white skin on Nina's face paled like it was bloodless from the man's words earlier. His round eyeballs just got bigger by two times. His screams were drowned in the frenzy of the creatures around them who turned out to be ghosts. The little man laughed more and more until he rolled on the floor. He did not have the slightest mercy on Nina who was panicking from being held captive in that place. However, when Nina's tears began to flood, the man became bored. He gripped both sides of Nina's face to keep her quiet.
Nina watched as the rabbit man floated before her. His screams were silenced by a threat, "Once again you scream and don't listen to my words, I'll have the ghosts kiss you one by one so you stop crying. Well, are you ready to work together now?" Nina had no choice but to nod. He was afraid of ghosts, let alone being kissed by ghosts. Why is this little guy so annoying as if he's the master of everything?
"Good," said the rabbit's ear satisfied. "Well, just relax your ass for a second." Nina was pushed onto the heart-red sofa, matching the creature's costume color. The object suddenly appeared in a beam of light that surrounded him and the little man. The noise around him seemed to be muted by the glass wall surrounding the two of them. Nina felt she was now in an isolated room full of sheen of light with a pseudo background behind the glass, to give her a feeling of security. Nina becomes curious about the figure of a magical man before her - a combination of the figure of a prophetic rabbit in the world of Alice, as well as the figure of a moon rabbit. The man sat down with his arms leaning leisurely on the sofa behind Nina.
"I'm Sindoorah. What's yourname?"
"Hm. So you were dumped by your family." The man concluded in an empathetic tone.
"That's how." Nina bowed while squeezing her hands restlessly on top of her lap.
"Then, he almost died until he finally fell here."
Nina raised her face with wide eyes. "How did you know?"
The rabbit man sniffed the air between them until his hoodie ears waved a gurgle.
"I can smell the traces of death from the scent of your body. The angel of death must have been near you just now." The man's words pounded the heart of Nina until the sadness returned to crawl. He recalled the crazy event he had just experienced in Ricci's villa.
"Your eyes are of no use, Little Girl. The world is full of beasts that are more terrifying than ghosts! You have to learn how to become stronger to conquer those who make you cry now!"
"All right." Nina nodded obediently. The man's words sounded like absolute truth and he could not refute. Nina wiped her tears in shame. "But I'm just a weak woman, sir."
The rabbit man chuckled. "I can give you the strength that will bring them to their knees under your feet."
Nina's eyes pouted for a moment. The offer sounds really interesting.
"But ...."
"Do you want to continue hiding or being tortured by those people?"
Nina shook her head loudly, making the smile on the rabbit man's face wider. He leaned in and whispered softly in front of Nina until Nina could see her own powerful aura-filled shadow on the dark bead of the man's eyes. It was not as dark as night, but more like keeping a forbidden secret. "Let's make a deal. I give you what you want on one condition."
"What is that, sir?" Nina's heart was pounding.
"Your heart." The man pointed at his chest. Nina was shocked.
"How can I live without a heart?!" nina's petite panicked.
"Of course you can. You'll live like me."
Nina's lips and eyes were wide open. Now he realized why he could not read the rabbit man's heart!
"Do we have a deal?" The man again seduced her and Nina nodded involuntarily among the bad shadows of the past that were circulating in her head. 'The 'ghosts' pushed her so strongly - her pain was left behind by Nolan for the sake of the cheating baby and almost finished off by her husband's family. It seems, this is the culmination of Nina's journey to seize power over her own life.
"Well, it won't hurt, instead." The man's fast rhythm seemed impatient. Nina was shocked when a pair of tiny hands targeted her chest, then pierced through her skin like a laser beam. As promised, Nina did not feel anything, literally. However, he felt as if something was missing from him when a heart-red crystal was pulled out by the man and then inserted in the man's own chest cavity.
Nina's sense of taste instantly dulls, numb, until she feels nothing physically. Instead, he felt so strong and powerful that he could hold the world. Nina's breath panted for a moment.
"How does strength feel?" The creature in front of Nina has transformed into an angel-looking adult man in an expensive but impressively simple and warm shirt suit as Nina had seen in Ricci's summer catalog.
Nina replied to the man's words with a cruel smile.
So, here's how it feels .. great.
