Chapter 18: The Life of Akira

"About, the spirit of the fight. Today is the last day, hopefully everything goes well and Akira can win" Yuki smiled in front of the training building.

"Thank you very much, brother. Then Akira goes in first huh, bye-bye. Be careful on the way" Akira smiled as he waved his hand.

"Yes, bye-bye" said Yuki waving her hand. 

"Today is the final or final evaluation. Let's do it vigorously and don't forget, it should be sporty! The first match was the men's final and was followed by the women's final. Let's start" said the eager Coach.

"Well Sir!" Speak the students in unison.

"I was very nervous, even though it was just a match against Akira" said Rena staring at Akira.

"Rena's right, I'm also very nervous. My heart is beating very fast" Akira smiled.

"But I'm not afraid because it's Akira, I'll beat you" Rena narrowed her eyes.

"Yes, you can't be afraid. You have to attack me seriously Rena" said Akira again.

"Of course, prepare yourself Akira" Rena smiled.

"I understand" said Akira who also smiled.

Akira will face Rena evaluated this last. As friends and have often played together during training, both remain nervous about the last game. Later, the Coach will appoint anyone who will participate in national and international tournaments based on the results of this evaluation. Actually the members who reached the quarter-finals have been declared safe, but they still have to be professional and finish the game in earnest, right? 

"The men's game was won by Ryan over Hide 26-24 and 23-21. Nice work Ryan and Hide. For the princess please prepare, we will start in 10 minutes" said Coach.

"Rena, are you ready?" Ask Akira.

"Of course, let's compete with Akira's sportsman" Rena smiled.

"Of course."

Akira and Rena then enter the field and warm up.

"Are you guys ready?" Ask Coach.

Akira took a deep breath and exhaled. "Huuhh. ready sir" said Akira and Ayano simultaneously.

"All right, let's start. On the right, Souma Akira and on the left, Fubuki Rena. First game, start!"

Akira serves as a sign of the start of the game. Throughout the course of the first game, Akira continues to attack Rena with the hard smash-smash that becomes his mainstay. But the defense of Rena is strong enough that there are often long rallies even up to 200 blows to get one point. 

Akira and Rena have their own skills. Akira is great at smash and fast games in front of the net whereas Rena is also great at smash and drop shots. Both play fiercely and no one wants to give up so their points are constantly chasing after and the resulting point difference is never more than 2 points.

"The first match was won by Akira over Rena with a score of 28-26. 5 Minutes rest" said the coach.

"As usual Akira is always great" said Rena then drank water.

"Rena's defense is good too, I'm so overwhelmed" said Akira smiling as he wiped his sweat with a towel.

"I won't budge in the second game" Rena smiled.

"I won't budge for you either, Rena" said smiling Akira.

"Okay, the second match will start. Akira and Rena please enter the field. On the right side, Fubuki Rena and on the left side, Souma Akira. The second game, start" said the coach.

Akira returned to serve as a sign of the start of the second match. As in the previous game, in the second game also both Akira and Rena no one wants to give up. They fight each other tactics in order to earn points.

"25-24" said the coach.

"Come on Akira, spirit! End this match, you must be very tired!" Shouted one of the friends from the sidelines.

"Don't give up Rena! You can, beat Akira! Come on Rena, spirit!" Say again.

"25-24, start!" just say Coach again.

The support was unceasingly echoed by friends watching on the sidelines. Uniquely they did not side with one of Akira and Rena, they encouraged both.

(Defense Rena is quite close, it is difficult to find the gap) said Akira hit the shuttlecock.

(As usual, Akira's smash is very difficult) said Rena not letting Akira smash produce points.

"Let's go you guys!!" Shouted friends from the sidelines.

(Please, this is the last one) Akira said in his heart. He prepared to do a jump smash and then hit his shuttlecock strongly. Shuttlecock that was hit by Akira also managed to enter the Rena game area.

"26-24. The women's sector match was won by Akira over Rena, 28-26 and 26-24." Say Coach.

"Finally" said Akira relieved, he was still standing in his place.

Everyone then clapped and cheered.

"Great game, Rena" said Akira approaching Rena.

"Yes, very good. Thank you Akira and congratulations" said Rena extending her hand.

"Thank you too Rena" said Akira received a helping hand from Rena.

"Very great game Rena, Akira. You guys are always awesome" said one friend approaching them.

"Defense Rena is very strong, Akira is also no less powerful. You are truly the hope of this country" said the others.

"You can, you are also very good" Rena smiled.

"Rena's right, all of us here are great people" Akira smiled.

"To be ranked 2 only I'm very happy, but I would be happier if I could beat Akira" Rena smiled.

"Other times, you can definitely beat him" said one of his friends.

"That's right" Akira nodded in agreement.

"Of course I will, that's for sure" said Rena again.

A while later...

"Gather everything!" Shouting coach. "A very nice and awesome game is featured by our friends today. That way, this evaluation is officially completed. Congratulations, all good work" said the clapping coach followed by everyone.

"For those who haven't entered the quarter-finals don't be afraid and worried. We don't judge by rank but by the development of your abilities. If you stop in the first game but your ability has improved from the previous evaluation, then it is declared pass and safe" explained the Coach.

"Exercises will be put aside for 1 week, make good use of the time. It seems like there is nothing I need to explain and do here, so you can go home quickly today. Please go home directly because I did not receive any complaints from your parents, do you understand?" Say Coach again.

"Understand Sir!" Speak students simultaneously.

"Remember, tomorrow there's no need to come because I won't be here either, okay?" Say Coach again.

"Understand Sir!" Say another student.

"Okay, call your parents now."

The students then open their phones to contact their parents as well as Akira.

Akira: "Sister"

Akira: "Is Brother asleep?"

Yuki: "What is Akira? Has the evaluation been completed?"

Akira: "Sister, please pick up Akira"

Yuki: "Well, wait a minute"

Akira: "Yes, be careful"

Yuki: "Acc"

A few minutes later...

"about!" Call Yuki wave his hand.

"Sister!" Call Akira to Yuki.

"Good night Brother" said Rena smiling.

"Hello, good night to Rena" Yuki smiled. "Are you picked up?"

"Yes Brother, Rena's father is waiting in front. Then Rena went home first" said Rena.

"Is that so? All right, be careful" Yuki smiled.

"I'm Akira first, see you" said Rena to Akira.

"Yes Rena, see you. Be careful" Akira smiled. "Bye-bye."

"Bye-bye" said Rena waving her hand.

"It looks like we should go home too" Akira told Yuki.

"All right, come on." Yuki and Akira then boarded the car.

"How did it go?" 

"About winning sister" said Akira smiling.

"What a great Akira, congratulations. Akira is indeed his sister Brother" said Yuki stroking Akira's head.

"Thank you, brother" said Akira smiling.

"Is Akira happy?" Ask Yuki again.

"Of course, Akira is very grateful to win today but Akira is not satisfied if he is not yet an athlete" explained Akira.

"True, don't be too quick to be satisfied but to be grateful" Yuki smiled.

"Yes Brother."

In-house...

"About home" said Akira entering the house. He then walked to the living room where his Papa and Brother were gathering.

"Welcome to Akira, how did it go?" Ask Papa.

"About winning, Pa" said Yuki who had just entered the house.

His father and brothers smiled. "Congratulations, Akira is indeed the best" Naoya smiled.

"Papa's son wins very talented. Congratulations" said Papa stroking Akira's head.

"Thank you" said Akira smiling.

"About his sister Brother, congratulations" said Shinji smiling.

"Again safe" Yuki smiled.

"Thank you sister" said Akira who also smiled.

"In this way, step by step Akira can approach Akira's dream of becoming an athlete" Papa said again and Akira nodded enthusiastically.

"About sure you can" Yuki said encouragingly.

"Yes, Akira will try" Akira smiled.

"All right, let's eat first. Invite Yuki all of you, he hasn't eaten yet" Papa said.

"Have you eaten?" Ask Akira

"Had" replied Papa smiling.

"Sister is also already" said Shinji spirit.

"Akira and Yuki have not eaten. Eat, stay warmed" Naoya said.

A while later...

After eating, Akira and Yuki do not go straight to the room like Papa and his other older brother. They decided to watch a movie together in the living room before going to bed with a few snacks to accompany them to watch.

"What do you want to see? No ghost movie, it's night."

"Is Akira afraid hm?" Yuki Goda.

"No, Akira is not afraid. It's just.. isn't it funny if the ghost comes into Akira's dream later?"

Yuki seemed to think for a moment. "It's funny, so we have to watch a ghost movie" Yuki said, opening a tape of a ghost movie.

"Sister!" Rengek Akira's.

Yuki smiled at Akira. "She was not afraid" teased Yuki again.

"yes too. Then, Akira wants to watch a ghost movie but the ghost is pretty."

"There's no ghost story in the movie that's pretty. No matter how beautiful the ghost, there must always be a scene that makes it look creepy like a bloody ghost like 'Silver' who is in a tree near the security guard post" said Yuki began seriously that made Akira surprised.

"Po-pos security guard?" Akira said he brought himself closer to Yuki.

"I guess you don't know? 'The 'Sister' was face-broken and always full of blood. 'Silver' was bothering people by patting their victim's shoulder, like this" Yuki patted Akira on the shoulder.

Akira was aghast as Yuki patted his shoulder. "Sister!!" Shouted Akira hugging Yuki.

"Shuttttt.don't be loud, Papa and Brother will be angry" said Yuki returned Akira's embrace.

"End of the evil brother!" akira Rengek.

Yuki smiled. "Is Akira afraid?" Tanya Yuki who is Akira's.

"Sorry, sorry. Brother promised not to repeat it again" Yuki smiled as she stroked Akira's head. Yuki then tried to keep her body away from Akira who was hugging her.

"No way, Akira was afraid of Kak" said Akira tightened his embrace.

"But Big Brother can't breathe, Akira." 

Akira then looked at Yuki inside. "No way, later Brother scared Akira again" said Akira again tightened his embrace.

"Sister promised, Brother won't do it again. Brother can't breathe Akira" Yuki said again. Akira did not reply, he just shook his head.

"About, Big Brother seriously can't breathe" said Yuki trying to let go of Akira's hand.

"What's this about? Why are you guys so noisy? It's late" Naoya said, approaching Yuki and Akira.

"About letting go of her embrace, Kak, Yuki can't breathe" said Yuki, trying to escape Akira.

"About letting go of Yuki, pity her short breath" Naoya said, causing Yuki and Akira to look at her.

"What did you mean by that brother?" Yuki said in disbelief.

Akira then looked at Yuki inside. "If Kak Yuki is short of breath, how else" said Akira let go of his embrace. 

Naoya laughed when he heard Akira play his joke. He sat down next to Akira.

"You guys are really" said Yuki shaking his head in disbelief. 

"Sister Yuki anyway, why scare Akira like that?" Akira Protest.

"Didn't my sister apologize earlier?"

"Right, but Akira was still afraid" Akira said.

"That's it, what matters is that you're apart from Akira, right?"

"But Big Brother is so evil" Yuki said annoyedly.

"Yes, Brother, I'm sorry. Sorry, Yuki, we already have you. Akira too, Yuki's apologizing isn't he? Forgive him and we start watching" Naoya said.

"Good Brother. Sorry, Brother Yuki, Akira has already punished Brother" said Akira lowered his head.

"No problem. Brother is sorry too" Yuki said smilingly as she stroked Akira's head.

Akira gave no more answers to Yuki's statements. He was still lowered, it seemed like Akira was very sorry.

"Don't be that moody" Naoya pinched softly on Akira's cheek.

Akira again did not answer Naoya's statement. Seeing her younger sister moody, Yuki then patted Akira on the shoulder which again made her shocked until she froze in place for a few seconds.

"Sister!" Whine Akira to Yuki.

"Hahaha, the end of Akira is adorable" Yuki said laughing.

"Sister Yuki's evil sister" Akira confronts Naoya.

"Stop Yuki. If you guys keep playing around when do we watch it?" Naoya smiled.

"Sir Nao is right. I'm sorry" Yuki smiled at Akira. "So what movie do you want?" 

"Just ghost" said Naoya.

"Yes! So we're watching a ghost movie, right?" yuki looked at Akira.

"Alright if Brother Nao also wants to watch his film" said Akira resigned.

"okay." Yuki then started to insert the DVD. "Prepare ya?"

Ghost films are starting to play. The opening scene was immediately started by jumpscare scenes with a pale-faced ghost.

"About fear?" Ask Naoya.

"No, the ghost is not spooky but not beautiful either" Akira said focusing on the screen in front of him.

"You are" Naoya ruffled Akira's hair.

"It's just the beginning, it's natural that it's not scary" Yuki said.

"Right" Naoya agreed.

The three then watched the ghost film without the slightest sound because it was too focused. Just the sound of a wall clock and the sound of a movie. Until there is a jumpscare scene with a ghost full of blood.

"How's Akira? Is Akira scared now?" Tempted Yuki without looking at Akira.

"It seems so" said Naoya who saw Akira leaning on his shoulder.

"Sister doesn't know that Akira is this bad" Yuki laughed.

Then they refocused on the film.

"It turns out that the ghost was once beautiful" Yuki said amazed to see the ghost. "Allowed Akira?" Yuki said looking towards Akira. "Who? It's worth not answering from earlier" said Yuki who saw Akira sleeping leaning on Naoya's shoulder.

"Why?" Naoya then sees Akira. "Geez" he said again with a smile as he looked at Akira who was asleep.

"It looks like you failed to prank Akira, Yuki" Naoya said, embracing Akira.

"It seems so Brother" said Yuki smiling and would stand up.

"Later to be transferred, the responsibility is a little more done. Brother wants to watch it first."

"Yes Brother."

A while later...

"Gee, the end is very difficult to guess" Yuki smiled.

"You're right" Naoya smiled. "After this quick sleep, it's been very night. Brother will take Akira to his room" said Naoya raised Akira.

"Yes, good night."

"Good night."

Naoya then lifted Akira and put him to bed carefully. He doesn't want Akira to wake up.

"Good night Akira, good dreams yes" said Naoya stroked Akira's head and left him.

The next day...

"Sir, why was it that when Akira woke up, Akira was already in bed?" Akira asked on the sidelines of his breakfast with Papa and all his Sisters.

"Of course, it's Big Brother who's holding Akira to the room" Naoya said.

"What did you guys do last night?" Ask Papa.

"Yuki, Akira, and Kak Nao watched the ghost movie yesterday but Akira instead fell asleep at her best" Yuki explained.

"We thought Akira was scared but when he saw it, Akira was fast asleep" Naoya explained.

"You are there" said Papa stroking Akira's head.

"True, Akira could have fallen asleep when the best scene came out" Yuki said.

"Yes sorry, sister, the end of the film was very boring at the beginning so Akira was sleepy" explained Akira.

"Why am I not invited?" Shinji Protest.

"Sister Shin is asleep" Yuki said.

"But if there was Shin, maybe Akira would have cried yesterday" Naoya teased with a laugh.

"Yes Kak" said Yuki agreed.

"That's for sure" Shinji smiled.

"Then it was good that Shin didn't watch yesterday, Akira didn't cry, right? Next time, Shin doesn't need to be invited" Akira smiled.

"As usual, Akira was always cruel to me. Then let Akira watch alone" Shinji said, staring down at Akira.

"Once you have, you are like little children. Quickly spend it later" said Papa mediate.

"Good Pa" said Shinji and Akira at the same time.

That is the daily life of Akira. A family that loves each other, protects, and supports each other even though sometimes Akira is involved in small debates with his brothers especially Shinji. Akira and Shinji are nowhere near, but if they get close they will love each other more than anyone. 

Akira's life at school was also very good. She is known as someone who is friendly, smart, beautiful, and of course kind, so Akira has a lot of friends. At first many do not like Akira because he is always close and always seen together with Sou who is admired by many schoolgirls at school. But when they get to know Akira, they change their minds and start to like him.

About her feelings for Sou, Akira always liked her. Not knowing why, but he felt very comfortable and safe when he was near Sou. What Akira believes is that out of everything Sou has, Akira really likes Sou's smile. A happy smile that might only be shown to Akira, because Akira never saw Sou smile like that to others. That smile really made the people who saw it, including Akira happy. 

Akira's life in Platnas was also very good. Akira always gets the most winning points during practice even the evaluation that will get him closer to achieving his dream. He also has a lot of good friends there.

(Mama, how's it going? Akira is fine here. Papa and Sister always take care of Akira, even though Akira who is the only woman in the house. Papa and Kak Nao look very busy. Every time Akira comes home Papa and Kak Nao are always asleep, maybe they are very tired. Brother Shin is like that too, but Akira meets with Kak Shin more than Kak Nao. Akira is more often with Kak Yuki, but Kak Yuki is like Akira's driver now. Brother always takes Akira wherever Akira goes. It seems like Akira is only troublesome for Big Brother. 

Evaluated yesterday, Akira was ranked first with the highest points. Akira wants to be an athlete and Akira promises to make Mama, Papa, Kak Nao, Kak Shin, and Kak Yuki proud of Akira, so Akira will not give up.

Mama, it seems like Akira likes someone. Akira doesn't know if Akira really likes him or not, but Akira feels good to be by his side. Name's Sou. He was kind and handsome but people called him the Ice Prince, probably because Sou was so cold and creepy when annoyed and angry even though he said he was not angry at the time. He is also very smart and good at playing basketball, Akira really admires him.)

"About a long time" Shinji said suddenly.

"Sister" Akira said without looking at Shinji.

(It looks like Brother Shin already wants to go home Ma. Yes, I will, Akira will visit again. See you, Ma.)

"And Akira was not finished" said Akira, whipping his lips.

"I'm sorry, but we have to go to the office" Papa said.

Akira nodded. "It's okay, Pa, let's go home."
