Chapter 28: The New Family

After a few days passed, Mr. Souma again invited his children to discuss his decision to remarry.

"So how are the kids? Did you allow Papa to remarry?" Ask Papa worried.

"If Naoya does not matter as long as she is a good woman and loves us" Naoya explained.

"Shin agrees, too" said Shinji.

"If this was for the common good, Yuki would also agree. It's just that, Yuki might not be able to accept it that fast Pa" Yuki said, bowing her head.

"Papa can understand, but I hope you can take it well" Papa smiled. "What about Akira?" Ask Papa looking at Akira.

"Akira is actually a bit disappointed because Papa thinks he has been troublesome for Akira even though Akira is not concerned about it. Akira is fine and can do everything himself" explained Akira bowing his head as well. "Truely said Kak Nao and Kak Yuki, if this is for the common good of Akira also agree Pa, but that person must love us" explained Akira.

"Thank you, thank you for understanding and for allowing Papa to remarry" Papa said, hugging Akira. "Thank you so much, Papa loves you all so much" he said with a happy smile.

Yuki then goes to call Naoya, Shinji, and Akira.

"Akira," called Yuki from behind the door.

"Yes Brother. Just come in, the door is not locked" Akira replied slightly shouting.

"What is Akira doing?" Tanya Yuki approached Akira.

"These are books that are not in use, so Akira separates them" Akira smiled. What's up, brother?"

"Papa has just come in with a stranger who may be his future wife Papa. We are asked to go down" Yuki explained.

"Hm so? Akira didn't want to go down" he murmured with a look.

"Is Akira afraid?"

"Hm, Akira doesn't want to go down" explained Akira looking at Yuki.

Yuki then smiled, she gently stroked Akira's head. "It's okay, don't be afraid. Brother is with you," Yuki said smilingly. "Let's go together?" yuki stretched out her hand.

Akira looked at Yuki for a moment. "Alright," Akira replied receiving Yuki's helping hand.

"Don't let go of Brother's hand, okay?" His words again gently stroked Akira's head.

"I guess understand" Akira replied smiling.

"Come on."

Yuki and Akira then go downstairs to Papa and everyone who is waiting for them.

Although her father has told her that Akira has a new mom who has one daughter, Akira remains surprised to see there are 2 strangers in his house tonight.

"Come Yuki, Akira" Papa smiled.

Akira and Yuki then sat down while giving her sweet smile even though Akira did not want to smile now.

Akira clasped Yuki's hand tightly which they hid under the table. They are like strengthening each other.

"The children introduce this Rina Lim, your future mother and this is Alya, your future brother," said Papa introduced the 2 strangers.

"Rina, Alya, introduce Naoya, Shinji, Yuki, and this is Akira, my son" Papa said, introducing Akira and his brothers to them.

"Greetings, hopefully we can be a harmonious family huh" said Rina smiling.

"Greetings" said Alya smiling.

"Greetings know too" said Naoya smilingly followed by Akira, Shinji, and Yuki who also smiled.

"About the same age as Alya? You can be friends" said Rina smiling.

"Ah. hm," Akira nodded his head with a smile.

"Let's be friends, Akira" Alya smiled.

"Sure," replied Akira who was also smiling.

"Hm, make good friends" said Papa who also smiled. "Ah. but maybe you guys won't have much time together, because Akira is a busy person" Papa explained smiling.

"What are you really doing?" Ask Alya again.

"That's.."

"He entered Platnas and became one of the core members there" Papa explained.

"really? Isn't that great?" Tanya Rina was surprised. "It's about so great, it turns out, you're so proud of yourself" she smiled.

"It's cool" said Alya smiling.

"T-thank you" murmured Akira smiling awkwardly.

Their conversation began to expand and expand. They smile and laugh like they have known each other for a long time. In contrast to Akira and Yuki who just keep quiet and talk potluck.

"Why is Akira silent?" Ask Rina to Akira. "Your face is a little pale, are you okay? Tanya Rina was worried.

"Is Akira sick?" Ask Papa who is worried.

"Hm, Akira's head is a little dizzy" murmured Akira.

Naoya quickly approached his sister. "Is it okay?" Naoya asked worriedly.

"Hm" Akira nodded his head.

Naoya then touched Akira's forehead with the back of his hand. "Thank God it's not fever" Naoya explained again.

"Why didn't you tell me from earlier hm?" Papa said worriedly.

"Sorry" murmured Akira again.

"Then, it's better for Akira to rest, don't force yourself" said Rina again.

"True, Akira just rest in the room huh?" Papa agreed.

"I'll take Akira to the room" Yuki said, opening her voice.

"Hm, take her. Let Akira rest" Papa said again.

"Come on Akira" asked Yuki to still hold Akira's hand. 

"Sorry everyone, Akira went to the room first" Akira said, bowing his head.

"Sure, rest" said Rina again.

"Rapidly healed Akira" said Alya who was also worried.

"Thank you" said Akira with a faint smile.

"Rest, don't get sick anymore" said Shinji stroking Akira's hair.

"We'll excuse you" Yuki said, then led Akira to her room.

"Is it okay? Since when did Akira's head turn giddy hm?" Yuki asked as they reached Akira's room.

"Since I got to the bottom. But Akira is fine Brother" said Akira smiling. "I don't want to go back down" Akira said, looking down.

"Hm, Big Brother also does not want to go back down" said Yuki who made Akira a little surprised. "kira know? Actually Brother does not agree with this decision, but Papa looks very, very much want this marriage so Brother is forced to agree to it" he explained again. "He doesn't even know anything about Akira being basically his own step-son!" annoyed Yuki.

"No need, brother, if Akira sleeps for a while surely the dizziness will disappear" explained Akira.

"It's okay, wait a minute, I'll get some water" he said, then left.

Other side..

Yuki went back down to get some drinking water past Papa and everyone who was engrossed in chatting.

"Yuki, how's Akira doing?" Ask Papa.

"It's about just fatigue Pa, nothing serious. She was asleep in her room" Yuki smiled.

"Thank God if Akira is okay" said Rina relieved.

"Thank God" said Papa who was also relieved. "She's a little dishonest about herself for fear of troubling everyone" Papa explained to Rina.

"About.." - Ogre Rina.

"I really can't believe it" Yuki said inwardly glancing at Rina. "Is he really worried about Akira? And why does that kid keep looking at me?" Yuki asked a glance at Alya who was watching her.

"Yuki will deliver medicine and drinking water first" she said.

"Sir Yuki is very handsome. Unfortunately he will be my Big Brother so I cannot make him as my lover," Alya said inwardly watching Yuki's movements. "Truly very unfortunate" he murmured.

"What's unfortunate?" Ask Rina.

"A-ah, it's nothing ma'am. It's a pity that Akira is sick, so I can't talk to him much" Alya told a lie.

"No problem, you will always meet. You can talk about a lot of things later" Papa explained.

"Yes" said Alya smiling.

In Akira's room..

"About," Yuki called to open the door. "This is water and medicine"

"Thank you very much Brother" said Akira smiling.

"Either. Rest first, you have to go back down" said Yuki stroking Akira's head for a moment.

"Hm, please kindly convey Akira's apology to Papa and all Brother"

"Sister will say it" Yuki said with a smile. "Good night"

"Thank you brother, good night" said Akira who also smiled.

It didn't take long for Rina and Alya to become familiar with the Souma family except with Akira and Yuki. They do not agree with this decision so they still keep their distance from Rina and Alya. However, Rina always shows her concern for Mr. Souma's children including Akira and Yuki as well. He always took the time to come home while at leisure with the reason of wanting to see the state of his prospective children later.

"Did Akira hate him?" Sou asked sat down before Akira.

"It's not like that" mute Akira. "I don't hate him but it's a little awkward and uncomfortable" Akira said, bowing his head.

"I see," said Sou stroking Akira's head. "I think it's okay if you feel that way, that's a natural thing, Akira. It can be said that this is very new and you also do not know well, right? I don't think it's a problem. Your future mother must have realized that, too, so she tried to approach you and get to know you more. No problem, just do it slowly and never show Akira's feelings of unease directly, it will hurt him" Sou smiled.

"I understand Sou, thank you" Akira smiled. 

"Let's eat, I'm hungry" Sou smiled.

"Thank you" said Sou smiling. "I would be the happiest man if I could make Akira my wife" Sou smiled.

Akira looks surprised to hear Sou say. He then lowered his head.

"Isn't Sou's way of thinking too far?" Akira muttered still bowing his head with a reddened face.

"It seems so, but I'll do it" said Sou who increasingly made Akira's face red with embarrassment.

"Aren't you hungry? Let's eat" Akira said, switching the conversation without looking at Sou.

Sou then raised Akira's chin for Akira to look at him.

"I mean it to Akira" he said looking into Akira's eyes. "I'll do it after graduation"

"Wait a minute isn't this.."

"Your face is red" he said with a smile.

"That's.. I-I won't make food for Sou again tomorrow" Akira said nervously. He then turned his face away.

"Ehhh? Why?"

"Just think about the reason for it yourself" said Akira.

"Wait, why? Did I make a mistake?"

"..."

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry, don't be mad. I love Akira's cooking I would really be sick if I didn't eat your cooking" Sou said sadly.

"..."

"Come, huh? I really like your cooking so can Akira make it for me? Yea?" Persuade Sou.

"..."

"I'm sorry" he said.

"Here we go, we eat now" Akira said, diverting the conversation.

"So I'm forgiven?" Sou asked looked at Akira who still did not say anything. He just stared at Sou.

"I'm forgiven?" Ask again.

"I'm forgiven, right?" Ask Sou again.

"I'm not angry" said Akira smiling. "Your confused face is adorable" said Akira laughing.

"Hmm you're starting to bully me" Sou said staring cynically at Akira. "I guess you're really angry"

"No no, I'm not angry. Why should I be angry anyway?" Akira asked confusedly. "Sou's always been cheating on me, hasn't she? We're even" he said smiling.

"All right, I get it. We're even now" Sou smiled.

"Sou," call Akira.

"Hm?"

"May I wait for your words?"

Sou looked at Akira in surprise. She then smiled and gently stroked Akira.

"certain. I will actually propose to you after graduation" Sou said with a sweet smile.

Akira again lowered his head. His face turned red again with a smile that was also engraved on his lips.

"Hm"

"We have to be patient until graduation" Sou smiled.

"Hm, I'll wait for him" Akira smiled. "Let's eat Sou, didn't you just say you were hungry?"

"Hm, good-bye" Sou smiled.

A month after that meeting, today was the wedding day of Mr. Souma and Rina. The event was held quite luxurious even though it was only attended by family, close friends, and colleagues. Mr. Souma looked very happy standing at the wedding altar with Rina. Akira and his brothers were grateful for it, this was the first time they had ever seen his Papa this happy.

"You are so beautiful, Akira" praised Sou smiling. Sou is indeed obliged to come by Mr. Souma as Akira's partner. Not only Sou, Shinji and Yuki's lovers are also invited to this happy event.

"Stop Sou, you've said that many times" Akira said shyly.

"You are beautiful" said Sou smiling. "Thank God everything went well, right?" 

"Hm, that. Thanks for the input at that time, Sou" said Akira smiling.

"That's no big deal, I'm glad to be able to help you" Sou smiled sweetly as he stroked Akira's head.

"I don't remember me allowing you to stroke Akira's head" Shinji said as he approached Akira and Sou.

"Sister.."

"A-ah, sorry Brother" said Sou lowered his head.

"Don't think about Sou, he was just jealous because his lover couldn't come" Naoya explained.

"W-would that.."

"She's my sister, I have more rights than you, Sou" Shinji said.

"I understand Brother, sorry" said Sou regretfully.

Shinji then embraces Sou's shoulder while ruffling his hair.

"I'm kidding Sou, just kidding" Shinji laughed. "Seeing your face like this makes me happy, Sou" he said.

"God already Brother said, he just can't bear to see others making out because his lover didn't come" Naoya explained smiling.

"So bad boy" said Akira staring at the cynical Shinji.

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry" said Shinji flatly.

"Halo Naoya, Shinji," said doctor Jung.

"Good night, doctor, thank you for coming" Naoya smiled. 

"Thank you for inviting me, too" he smiled. "It's pretty too today"

"Thank you doctor Jung" Akira smiled.

"Sister stay a while, yes" said Naoya. "Let's go over here, doctor" he told Jung's doctor, who Shinji had followed from there.

"Who?" Ask sou.

"Our family doctor" explained Akira smiling. "Sou, I'll go out for a while" she said.

"Where are you going?"

"I want to get some fresh air" Akira smiled.

"I'm your partner, so I have to be with you" Sou smiled.

"All right, let's get out"

Akira and Sou then head to the park bench outside the wedding hall which is quite quiet.

"Well.." Akira breathed a rough sigh.

"Thank you for working hard" Sou said stroking Akira's hair. He then sat down and slept on Akira's lap.

"Sou?"

"Looking at Akira's face from below like this isn't bad either" she smiled.

"What did you say?" Akira said with a small laugh.

"Akira's lap makes me comfortable" Sou said, closing her eyes.

"Don't fall asleep here Sou, you'll be sick later"

"I know I won't fall asleep" Sou said, closing his eyes.

"Your hair is a mess, Sou" said Akira chuckling. Akira then tidied up Sou's hair.

"Keep my head like that, Akira" Sou's pinta still closed his eyes.

"Hm, I'll do it" Akira smiled. He then stroked Sou's head at her lover's request.

"Sou," call Akira. 

"Hm?" Sou cleared his throat in response. He kept his eyes closed.

"We really have become a family now"

"Hm"

"I'm happy if Papa is happy but still, there's something stuck in my heart" Akira said.

"Hm, I can understand what you mean" Sou said opening his eyes. He then wakes up from Akira's lap. "It's okay. Chances are you haven't accepted them completely so just do it slowly until something that's stuck is gone yourself"

"But we're going to stay together, I don't know how to deal with them tomorrow" Akira said.

Sou then smiled. She cupped Akira's face and looked at him deeply.

"What did you say hm? Akira is Akira, just be yourself you can get through it. Don't think too much about things that you shouldn't think about, just be Akira yourself" Sou explained with a smile.

Hearing Sou's explanation, Akira also smiled. "Sou's right, I just need to be myself. I just greet him like I say hello to Papa and Brother" Akira smiled.

"Hm right, just be Akira yourself" Sou smiled.

"Thank you Sou, I love you" Akira said, hugging Sou.

"I love you more" Sou replied to Akira's embrace. "Let's go back, someone else will look for us later" he asked.

"All right, come on."

Some time later, finally, Mr. Souma's wedding party was finished. The invited guests had already left the building including Sou who was allowed to go home first. The Souma family then returned home in three cars. Mr. Souma and Rina, followed by Naoya and Alya cars, and finally Shinji, Yuki, and Akira cars.

Unlike the 2 cars in front of him that look crowded, Shinji cars are very quiet even though there are 3 people there.

"Finally it's done too" Shinji said in a statement. "Are you tired?" Ask his two brothers.

"Hm, I'm tired" said Yuki who sat in the back with Akira.

"A little tired" said Akira, bowing his head.

"I'm envious that Akira has a new friend, good friends with him huh" Shinji said.

"It's almost certain to be good friends with Alya, isn't it?" Yuki asked smiling.

Silent. Akira did not answer the questions of his two brothers.

"about?" Tanya Yuki approached Akira. "Hhhhhh, it's worth not answering" Yuki said with a small laugh.

"He's asleep?" Ask Shinji.

"Hm, it seems like Akira is very tired" Yuki said then put Akira on her lap.

"He's been working hard" Shinji said, staring at Akira from the front mirror.

"True Sister" said Yuki stroking Akira's head.

A few days later they arrived home. Shinji then carried Akira inside without waking him up.

"why or so?" Ask Papa to worry.

"He's just exhausted Pa. Shinji doesn't want to wake her up" Shinji explained.

"Is that so? Thank goodness." said Papa relieved. "Bring Akira to the room. Yuki and Shinji also took a break straight away huh, we will also take a break. Don't stay up" Papa said.

"We understand Pa" Shinji said again. "Good night"

"Good night" said Papa and Rina.

Shinji then takes Akira to the room and lulls her to sleep slowly. He did not want to wake Akira.

"It must be very tired, thanks for working hard today" murmured Shinji smiling. "Good night."
