Better With Herman
"Here was up what?" Anna without further ado asked Desta.
"Oh I'm riding a motorcycle" Desta replied with a small smile.
"Don't go to work today?" continued Anna.
"It just so happens that today I am free of duty, so I can come here" replied Desta who had started to know the direction of this conversation.
"Where do you work and what part?" Anna again asked with a question that made everyone understand where this conversation was going.
Desta looked at Debby and nodded, "I work at Dahlia's company, and my job is the security division".
"So you're a security guard?" Anna began to look showing an understated expression.
"That's right, aunt." Desta had already guessed the direction of the conversation, but he still answered calmly.
Then Anna looked at Debby with a sharp gaze that seemed to convey her disappointment because Debby instead chose Desta who was just a security guard rather than Herman who was a big boss.
"OK, just talk, you order food first" Retno tries to break this bad mood.
"Good uncle" Desta nodded then took a quick look at the menu and ordered some seafood dishes that were the same type as d'Coins.
"Sir Desta, don't you know that Deb's brother has a lot of big guys chasing him but he refused? You're so lucky to make her want to be with you..!" Lia immediately spoke of Herman and the Imam being rejected by Debby.
"Well, then I'm really lucky well" Desta replied with a wry smile.
"Lia, don't talk to him like that..! Debby is angry with Lia.
But Anna still seems to disagree that Debby is dating Desta, she does not have a good future if later married to a security guard.
"Debby, are you sure about him?" Anna was so outspoken that there was still Desta listening to her talk.
Desta begins to understand the nature of Anna, but according to him it is natural because no parent wants his child to live hard, but whether Debby really lives hard if married to Desta, he had never felt life difficult in his entire life.
"mmm.. I'm so sure of her, ma'am..!" Debby answered confidently and kept her mother quiet and did not continue with any questions.
"W-what's this? I thought it was just plain talk, it looks more like a proposal show" Desta cursed in his heart.
"I promise not to let Debby live in distress, I promise on behalf of my late mother..!" Desta promised in earnest.
"Well, may your promise be kept..!" anna and Retno answered nodding her head, Lia gave her thumbs up to Desta.
Desta makes Debby more convinced to live with him.
"Okay, since today is a good day, I will treat you to whole seafood..!" Retno tries to make the atmosphere better again.
They started eating the food that arrived at his desk.
After eating and paying, they decide to split up and let Debby and Desta go around.
"Bontet, forgive my mother's attitude to you earlier yes, I hope you're not offended" Debby apologized.
"I thought it was a natural thing, so I didn't think about it too much" Desta replied.
On the other hand, Debby's family is still talking about Desta.
“Retno, are you sure you let Debby choose a security guard over Herman?” Anna actually still does not want Desta to be her son-in-law because of her not so good social status.
“I don't want to impose a will on Debby, I don't want her to live with compulsion” Retno is always wiser when it comes to her son's problems.
“But aren't you worried that Debby's going to have a hard life? He's just a security guard.!” Anna insists on convincing Retno to match Debby to Herman, because in her eyes Herman is much better and more successful than Desta.
“You are, it is not good to demean someone, who knows later he can be a big person like Herman and” Retno chimed in Anna's speech.
“Dad, if I think it's better for Deb to be with her brother Herman alone, she has more future if she is with him.” Lia also talked about her brother.
“You are..! All right, I'll try to talk to Debby later, but I'll never force her, I want her to choose her life path” replied Retno who finally relented.
