73. Twin Hunter

A dark night on a cliff that is quite steep, two young men with black hair walk with heart so as not to fall from the cliff.

One of them is seen reading a magic map and showing the way towards their destination.

"How far is it?" Asked one of the young men to his colleague.

"A little more, at the top of this cliff." Answer the young man. They also continued their journey.

The wind started blowing making them a little trouble. Moreover, it must find a suitable footing so as not to slip and fall into the river below it.

"Why not just use magic to fly or teleport? Isn't that gonna be easier?" Asked the young man who was walking behind the other young man.

"Sstt... Don't noise! If they use magic, they can figure out our location and they'll catch us later." Said the other young man while whispering a little.

The young man behind him could only sigh in annoyance. Can't use a little magic? If he knew he was going to climb a cliff like this, he should have prepared climbing equipment.

But unfortunately, not everything planned will happen. And unexpected things can appear at any time in a situation like this.

Soon they reached the top. The first thing they saw was that it was a large, blue magic crystal shining brightly. It looks so beautiful with the light that gives off a cool aura.

"Beautifully... Is this the crystal?" Asked one of the young men while walking over. He seemed so fascinated by the beauty of the crystal.

"Rio don't be careless! What if someone's guarding the crystal?" Said one of the young men to the young man called Rio.

While Rio was just smiling lightly. "You're too worried. Just chill.. There's nothing here..."

Rio walked up to the crystal and patted the crystal with his hand, trying to prove that there was nothing. "Look at... You're too worried about Re-"

KIYYA!!!

His words were cut off when a shrill voice sounded. Quickly, the two youths put up a standby position.

They sharpen their sense of sight and hearing, looking for the origin of the sound.

The cold temperature suddenly felt made the two shiver. But that was still not enough to lower their vigilance.

"Rio watch!!"

An ice crystal shot towards them. Luckily Rio managed to pull away from the attack. If not, he would have been seriously injured.

"You all right?" Asked the young man while checking his partner's condition.

"I'm fine. Thanks Ren." Said Rio to his colleague Ren. Ran just nodded hearing that. His gaze turned on the figure of a giant brown bird with toenails and horns on its head made of ice.

Ren gave a sharp look to Rio. "Congratulations Rio... You've succeeded in putting us in danger."

Rio scratched the back of his un-itchy head. "A... Ehe.. Sorry..."

"That's it. We finish this one first" After saying that, Ren instantly activated his magic and ran towards the monster before him.

"[Dark magic: the sword of death]!!" Ren Exclamations. A purple-colored magic circle appeared before him and took out a black katana sword.

Ren instantly took the sword and slashed it at the monster before him. But unfortunately he managed to be blocked with the wings of the bird that turned into ice crystals.

"Against that bird-type monster don't come from mainland~"

Ren looked at the source of the voice. It was Rio who was flying with a pair of black wings on his back. He grabbed a gun and pointed it at the bird.

"[Dark magic: darkness bullet shot]!!!" The woodpecker was pressed and the magic bullet instantly slid towards the monster.

KYIIYAA!!

The monster's shrill voice sounded when the magic bullet that Rio shot hit him. However, it seems like Rio also miscalculated back then.

Just a few seconds apart, the monster instantly spouted snow from its mouth which rightly hit Rio. The young man tried to dodge, but his wings started to freeze as a result of the monster's attack.

"Damn! If this continues I can fall!" Complaints while controlling the flapping of his wings so that he does not fall. However, his distracted self on his wings forgot the monster that was now flying towards him.

"Great!"

"[Dark magic: the arrow of darkness]!" A bow and arrow appeared. Quickly, Ren instantly drew his bow. The arrow that shot out instantly turned so much once Ren unleashed it.

The bird tries to dodge, but Ren moves his hand controlling the bow it follows.

"Well, I don't want to lose!!" Rio who was unwilling to lose to his comrade directly extended his hand forward. "[The dark magic: the sickle of death]!!"

A black-colored huge scythe appeared and Rio instantly threw it at the monster. The bird monster that tried to dodge was precisely pierced by an arrow from behind him. Not quite there yet, the scythe that Rio threw in his control to turn around and successfully cut off the monster's head.

"Yey! It worked!" Rio cheers and flies down. " Hehe! Cool was my act?" He said a little stylish.

Ren just stared flat and breathed. "Why did you join in throwing your scythe? Wouldn't a boomerang be better? Or the discs."

Hearing his colleague's remark, Rio only laughed crisply while scratching the back of his head. "Hehe.. Forgetting. At least it worked, right? Okay fine! Let's grab that crystal and continue on!"

Ren could only stop breathing. I don't know why he would be stuck with someone like that.

But their steps came to a halt when they heard the sound of chains. They circulated their gazes and re-activated their magic.

"They didn't find us, did they?" Rio asked slowly.

Ren just shook his head. " I don't know either. I hope it doesn't. After he got the new gun, I thought he'd forgotten about us."

"I think so too. Freedom is only temporary."

"Rio watch!!"

Rio was about to fall when Ren suddenly pushed him and held a chain with his sword. He really didn't realize that.

"Why did I almost have a mulu attack anyway??" Rio's complaint that almost lost balance when pushed arrived.

Remind Rio to be more alert next time.

"Don't just complain! Hurry up and help me!" Exclaimed Ren who was still holding the chain with his sword.

Rio gave a short nod and formed the long gun he used to shoot the chain apart.

But unfortunately, the number of chains that appear more and more makes them quite overwhelmed.

The goal of coming here to take the energy from the magic crystals they would use to restore their magic power, had instead failed due to the monster attacks. Plus they are caught by the chain owner, making them have to fight him.

In the darkness of the night, the two youths nimbly dodged every attack from the wildly moving chains. Sweat begins to drip even though the temperature around them is quite cold.

"When should we do this?" Rio asked who was getting annoyed.

"I don't know. What matters is that we fight du-akh!" Ren's words were cut off when suddenly he felt a pain in his neck. The crescent moon symbol was bound in chains which slightly gave off a dark purple light.

Hearing the moans of his comrades, Rio immediately turned his head. But at the same time, there was a chain that moved towards him quickly. "Ren watch out!!"

Hearing Rio's warning, Ren was startled and tried to dodge. But unfortunately, the chain was moving too fast. All he could do now was just close his eyes tightly preparing to feel the pain.

However,

"Akh!!!"

Ren opened his eyes. He was surprised to see his partner who was in front of him.

The next moment, Rio instantly fell to his knees while holding onto his stomach which was draining blood.

"Rio are you okay?" Ren asked in panic. He really didn't think it would be like this.

"I-I'm fine... Akh..." Her lies.

The lies are too obvious.

Want Rio to grumble about the owner of the chain. It had been pierced by a chain, its neck was also painful due to the sign of the moon. His fate was so unlucky.

"More!" Rio exclaimed in worry and tried to get up. But he did not notice there was a chain that also led to him from the side.

"Rio lookout!!!" Ren quickly ran straight towards his colleague. "[Space magic: teleportation]!!"

A portal appeared behind Rio and Ren instantly pushed the young man inside.

"What are you doing?!"

"Go!!"

Not yet Rio retaliated, he had already entered into the portal. But from behind, a chain tied up Ren's body making the young man unable to move.

"Damn!" Ren clenched his hand making the portal disappear. Next used his magic to untie the bonds in his body.

But he did not realize if there was a chain that also led to him from the side. Plus, the crescent moon symbol that made him quite in pain complicated his.

"Ughhh!" His groaning when inevitably had to feel pain due to the slash from the chain that also made him fall from the cliff.

"YYYYYYYYYYY!! HELP!!!!!!"

"What's wrong?! Any monsters? Bite the mosquito? Is there anyone ignorant? Any ghosts?? Zion why??" Hali and Zuka asked at the same time when hearing Zion suddenly screamed made them startled and woke up from their deep sleep.

They looked worriedly at Zion who was seen still trying to regulate her unstable breath.

"I-I'm fine. I'm just having a nightmare." Zion.

Hali frowns "dream?"

"What dream?" Zuka asked while looking curiously.

"There were two young men who were fighting the chain. Looks like the chain from the Inimicus chief. But one of them got stabbed while trying to save his friend. And another one tried to protect but almost got attacked and finally pushed his wounded friend into the portal. But unfortunately he failed to enter as well and fell into the river due to the chain attack. I don't know why that dream feels so real." Clearly Zion while rubbing her head was somewhat throbbing painfully.

"Somehow I'm worried." Zuka.

"That's it.. It was just a dream. A big mistake you guys are disrupting the slumber of a grand dragon like me. Get some sleep or I'll make it your night snack." Said Haru who slept not far from them.

"Huh! You dragon ngeselin." Zuka's grunts. Ignored by the dragon.

They also decided to go back to sleep. Even in his heart, Zion was still worried and kept thinking about her dream.

'Is it really just a dream?' inner Zion.
