Chapter 22 - Taking the Mission
The morning had come, the atmosphere in the Heavenly Dragon sect was instantly filled by the voices of the disciples. All of them started doing their usual activities.
Lin Yan on the other side who had just finished breakfast, ran around the outer wilderness region to complete the punishment he had received.
Many of the outer wilderness disciples felt strange upon seeing Lin Yan who was running constantly. After noon, it was seen Lin Yan clearing all the buildings. Not the students' building.
After cleaning it up until the afternoon, Lin Yan sighed in relief. He felt a little bitter at this moment as it looked like a maid.
As Lin Yan went to a certain place in the outer wilderness region, several figures appeared nearby.
“Lin Yan? Is that you?”
Lin Yan looked towards the back and found the two beautiful women he already knew.
“Nona Gu?” Lin Yan was surprised that he met Gu Yuena and Gu Yin.
“Can't you stop calling me Miss Gu?” Gu Yuena developed her cheeks slightly irritated.
Meanwhile, Gu Yin only glanced at her cousin. Since when did the ice-cold woman act like a spoiled girl.
Lin Yan felt a little awkward. He had not long known Gu Yuena and Gu Yin. Of course he will not call someone carelessly because maybe the person does not like to be called in a familiar way.
“Alright Gu Yuena.. Has your exam been completed?” asked Lin Yan.
Gu Yuena smiled sweetly. “Yes. The exam has been completed, we have just arrived at this place. Tomorrow is the opening day for new students. Are you going to be there?”
Lin Yan felt astonished as he was not told by the Elder who brought him or the place he took the sect clothes and token identification marks of the outer wilderness disciples.
“No. I was not invited by the Elder. Maybe because I came in from the beginning? Or because of my recommendation letter?” asked Lin Yan astonished as well.
“Maybe. Then what about you, is there a problem after you killed that kid before?” Gu Yuena directly asked back because she was still worried that the sect would hand it over to the Yi clan.
“Like this.” Lin Yan explained about the punishment he received.
Gu Yuena and Gu Yin looked at each other as it was unexpected that the Heavenly Dragon sect would rather be hostile to the Yi clan than to hand over Lin Yan.
“Alright if so, I'll go.” Lin Yan immediately turned around and went to his residence to be.
“Wait.. is that how you treat a girl?” The displeased Gu Yuena directly chased after Lin Yan with Gu Yin.
Lin Yan sighed and ignored Gu Yuena and Gu Yin who continued to follow him.
Gu Yin was even more astonished to see the behavior of his cousin. He was a little worried at the moment but he didn't know what he was worried about.
Arriving at Lin Yan's residence, he directly cooked the food. He would certainly cook for the two women because he considered them as guests.
They did not ask about it and enjoyed the dishes that Lin Yan made. After that, they decided to leave.
Since the two women had left, Lin Yan immediately cultivated for a moment before he rested.
The next morning, Lin Yan again ran. In just a few hours, he had completed all the rounds that became his law.
“Huft.. finally finished, next is to clean the building. Won't take long to clean up all that because previously I've made all the buildings as clean as possible.” Lin Yan smiled slightly as he slowly walked towards a certain building. It was the place to learn the basic techniques in the outer wilderness of the Heavenly Dragon sect.
Lin Yan was not so interested in those basic techniques as he already had more advanced basic fighting techniques than his grandparents. As he walked towards the place he was heading to, he noticed in the distance that all the new disciples of the outer wilderness were gathering and listening to a lecture from an Elder.
It is seen that new students are very tired of listening to lectures that they think are not important.
Lin Yan chuckled slightly. He went straight to the building to learn the technique. In the Heavenly Dragon sect, in order to pick up a copy of a certain technique, a disciple must have merit points. He had learned that when he first cleaned the building.
“Happy day Elder.” Lin Yan who entered the building, greeted a man who was very old. He was the guard of the building.
“Oh, Lin Yan... What do you want?” asked the old man with a smile on his face.
“I want to clean this building.” replied Lin Yan with a smile back. He had checked the old man before and could not find anything. For the Master, Great Elder and First Elder of the Heavenly Dragon sect, he could slightly track them down. But for the old man who was guarding the building was not at all which meant that he was just an ordinary human being.
“No need to clean it. This old man will say that you did your job well.” The old man smiled. He had seen many disciples but in the past few years, perhaps only Lin Yan was interested in greeting him and speaking respectfully to him.
“No Elders. That's my job. I don't want to make trouble.” Lin Yan said as he bowed slightly as the old man tried to help him.
The old man stroked his beard because Lin Yan had indeed attracted him.
“Alright, do as you like.” the old man did not force Lin Yan anymore. He understood that Lin Yan was a disciplined disciple and he wondered who someone had taught him about manners. Unlike other children who had the arrogance of having already entered the world of cultivators.
Lin Yan smiled then immediately cleaned the building. Not half an hour, he finished doing it and said goodbye to the old man.
Seeing Lin Yan's back leaving, the old man could only sigh. “If all the disciples of this sect were like him, surely the Heavenly Dragon sect would be even more powerful.”
Lin Yan who left, directly cleaned the other buildings and it took about 3 hours to do so. After that, he immediately went to another building that he had cleaned before.
Arriving in front of the building, he stared at the vast building. That place was a place to take on several missions to earn merit points. It was seen that very many disciples had come to that place to take on missions for the sake of resources.
Lin Yan went inside and approached one of the search boards. There are many missions and not just one bulletin board. He examined the skin of the animals on the search board one by one.
“Hm..all missions for outer wilderness disciples are only in the forest around here. Looks like I should more quickly increase my cultivation to get into the deep wilderness.” Inner Lin Yan.
After checking for a while, Lin Yan found one mission that attracted his interest.
“Killing a level 2 spirit beast and retrieving the spirit beast core. Reward 100 merit points. Worth trying.” Lin Yan also took the animal skin which became the mission he wanted to work on. Then he went to the mission registration.
