Chapter 4: Meeting a Goddess

I opened my eyes as I fell to the ground.

I groaned, feeling a sharp pain in my nose, making me blink in shock as I sat down.

I carefully touched it to see if it was bleeding, making me grimace in pain.

When I pulled my finger back, there was no blood.

Thank goodness it didn't break, though it was a bit tender.

I looked up expecting Celestine, and when I didn't see her, I stood up and realized that I wasn't in the summoning room anymore.

I was in an endless white void.

'Where am I? What happened to Celestine?'

I held my head in pain as I remembered kissing her back then.

I should have panicked by now, but something about this place had a calming effect, calming my nerves.

Not understanding what was going on, I tried using the main menu to logout, but the screen did not appear.

I would scream when I turned around and saw someone sleeping on the table.

I walked towards her, and the first thing I noticed was that the person had amazing blue hair.

When I arrived at the table, I discovered that it was a sleeping girl.

She's pretty cute who looks the same age as me, if not a little younger, who has curls on it with some gems in it.

She wore a blue vest and a white striped skirt with green ribbons, blue boots, and white with yellow sleeves.

He hugged an empty bottle next to a bag of empty chips with saliva coming out of his mouth, forming a small puddle.

I blinked in confusion, but for some reason, it felt like I should know who he was.

'Juvia from Fairy Tail? No, she has different clothes, and her hair is dark blue. eh, vivi? No, her hair is lighter in color, and she doesn't look like her.

Fuck it, let's see if I can leave before this girl wakes up.'

I started walking as far away from the beauty of sleep as I could until I finally reached the invisible wall.

It felt soft, like rubber, but no matter how much I pushed and kicked, it did not move.

With that failure, I decided to check the drawer of the blue haired girl to look for clues.

I found some folders in the top drawer, which I could not read or open for some reason.

The ones underneath have chips and more chips.

On the opposite side there were many pockets of ancient coins, and in the last drawer, there were many bottles of wine like the one he was hugging.

I decided to take a bag of coins and some chips, put them in my pants pocket.

Fortunately, I was fully dressed in my in-game attire.

When he still did not wake up, I decided to take action myself.

So I started shaking her shoulders, but all she did was mutter angrily, push my hands away, and hug the bottle tighter.

It pissed me off, so I shook her harder and harder until she finally woke up.

It was the goddess Aqua from the manga/anime KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!.

From what I remember, Aqua was a useless goddess that Kazuma chose as a weapon and always owed her a debt of drinking, or she destroyed a wall or something like that.

This is not a good sign for me.

(Pov Aqua)

Aqua yawned heavily, rubbing her eyes, wondering why she woke up.

He had a beautiful dream about an alcohol waterfall that shone so beautifully in the light, and next to it was a mountain of potato chips.

He stretched his hands up and looked at the chair, not seeing anyone, so he planned to fall back asleep, but he jumped to his feet when someone patted his shoulder behind him, which caused him to fall.

His feet that were numb from sleep also did not help him.

I gasped at her loud screams that stepped back, seeing Aqua fall to the floor.

It made me smile a little, but I realized the look on my face as she turned towards me, pouting heavily with one tear in her eyes at me.

He wordlessly pointed to the second chair on the other side of the table, which suddenly appeared.

I secretly obeyed him, feeling a little bad for scaring him, but for some reason, it made me want to do it again.

Aqua stood up, coughed in her hands, tried to act as if it had not happened, and she sat down.

He reached into the drawer to take out some paper.

I sat on the chair, staring straight at Aqua as the situation hit me.

'It must have been a dream; no other explanation made sense. How could I be here when the last thing I saw was Celestine, and when I blinked, I was here in front of a useless goddess. I have to dream. I don't want to think of an alternative.' I thought in denial.

"Regulus Corneas," Aqua started talking, but she soon realized that I wasn't paying attention to her, it wasn't my fault.

I just died, and I left my family, and more importantly, I can't play games anymore!

I spent so long saving for it, and I died — was a waste.

He coughed, got my attention, made me turn towards him, but my mind floated.

I always imagined that I would be sent to a different world or somehow gain superpowers, but I never thought it would happen like this.

Is he just as annoying as his anime counterpart?

Aqua started again, "Welcome to the afterlife, Regulus Corneas. Unfortunately, you have died ...''

It took a few minutes for him to calm himself from laughing, and he became serious again.

When I saw that, I wanted to roll my eyes, but I held it back and just said in a flat voice, "Sup, oh great and powerful goddess."

''Hmmph,'' Aqua pouted, not feeling pleased with my answer.

'It wasn't my fault. Just seeing you being eaten by a giant frog has ruined your reputation as a goddess in my eyes.'

That's what I wanted to tell her, but I didn't want to kill myself.

''I know what happened to you is bad, but dying gives you three choices now. The older gods consider you worthy to choose one, Aqua said, brandishing three fingers.

''The first option is that you can ascend to heaven, the second is that you can reincarnate back into your world, without your memories, and lastly, the second is that you can reincarnate back into your world, the third option is that you can choose to be sent to another world where you can have tremendous power and try to defeat the Demon Lord! I listened while nodding.

Suddenly, a thought popped into my head, 'Could that be why the population is low, is it because the succubus living in Axel fulfills the hidden dreams and desires of the men, making human women less desirable? Could it be part of the demon lord's plan?!?!?'

If so, there's nothing I can do.

The men would silence me if I planned to tell the female population about the succubus, and most likely, the men would not believe me thinking that I wanted them all for myself.

If so, then it would be easier to seduce women there, like Luna.

In fact, it is best to be careful of men as a precaution. I refocused on Aqua as she continued to speak.

"Because of this, we gods have decided to send young people like yourself into that world while letting you keep your old bodies and memories! Isn't that cool?!"

I grabbed my head in pain as the language was inserted into my memory. I blinked a few times, wiping away some of the accumulated tears.

"Now!" He said, ignoring me, clapping and a deck of cards appeared on the table between them.

"You can choose whatever you see from these cards as your new ability, or if you don't like it, I can make it based on your wishes. All you have to do is choose, and I will send you down your path! "

He gave it to me, and I pushed them back to him and said, "I don't want it. I already have my wish. I wish I had a waifu summoning system from the game, though, New World Cravings without any restrictions with my inventory that can hold all my stuff and the ability to use any money to buy more tickets." I was nervous, crossing my fingers, hoping he could do it.

I said it as soon as possible without stuttering, so hopefully he doesn't know I added some extra things to my liking.

(POV Aqua)

Aqua blinked a few times, confused by what Regulus said.

She decided to grant it because most people would take the time to think about what they wanted, and she wanted to relax without them mumbling to themselves or asking her annoying questions.

Even though he thought it didn't matter, people always asked for OP things, and he gladly granted it, knowing that it would have its negative side.

Like the One Kill spell? It only works for the living. Occult Spells? It just hides the user from visual effects. The sense of smell and hearing can still find the person.

He got a serious look and asked her, wanting to be sure.

"Is this what you want? Because once I give it to you, you cannot change your mind.'' Though in his head, he begged Regulus not to change his mind.

(POV Regulus)

''Yes, I am sure. Is possible?'' I nodded with an excited look.

Otherwise, I would hug her feet, cry and plead at the same time until she did.

I will not be ashamed at all because I died for it.

He shrugged his shoulders and said.

"I'll grant you that request!" A blue light appeared around me as he began the process of gifting.

Not a minute later, it's all done.

I looked at my hands, but nothing felt different. I looked at Aqua in confusion, and she clarified, "You will gain your strength when you arrive in the world."

"Thank you" I said and felt that he wasn't so bad.

Maybe I misjudged him.

"Hopefully lucky, adventurer, on your way to defeating the demon lord," Aqua said, flicking her finger, and a magic circle appeared below me, surrounding me.

It became brighter, then suddenly, I disappeared into a new place.

(POV Aqua)

Aqua, now alone again, sighed tiredly.

He sat back in his chair, putting his feet on the table while grabbing onto the bottom drawer for a drink.

He took out the bottle and was about to put it on his lips, but he paused for a moment, talking to himself calmly, "It seems like I'm forgetting something, but what?"

Aqua scratched her head, trying to remember, then she shrugged her shoulders, deeming it unimportant if she could not remember it.

He drank a sip of wine and started eating a new bag of chips.

Suddenly, someone comes, causing Aqua to complain to herself about her broken snack meal time.

A map appeared in front of him, and he read his name, "Sato Kazuma, huh? I'll send him a quick and rest." He said arrogantly.
