Waifu Card Summon's
Chapter 7: The Ambush

I looked at the list, wondering who to call next. 

I'm a Mage, and I already have a Cleric on Celestine. 

I need someone who can deal more damage to monsters. 

A Warrior would be the best, but a Rogue was also good.

I went through the list, paying attention to some characters from the manga and anime that I read/watch when I was young.

When my eyes landed on the sixth one, my steps wavered, which made me stumble over the tree roots, causing me to land on the ground, swiping my palm onto the sharp rock, he said, 

"Ghaa! Oww!"

Kotonoha Katsura [Rogue] (Yandere) {School Days} R

"Tu-Regulus!?" Celestine shouted in surprise. 

He took a few steps towards me and extended his hand to pull me up. 

I grimaced as I grabbed his left hand with my right hand as I stood back up.

He looked at my bleeding palm. 

"Here, give me your hand!." He took out my bloody palms in both of his hands which glowed as he cast his healing magic.

I began to shiver in fear at that name.

Akj knows that the game has all kinds of waifu available to call, but I didn't expect to call a yandere this fast.

I love yandere, but only behind the scenes where akh is safe.

The Yandere girls are crazy. 

Not to mention I don't want to see my other waif get killed if we hold hands or something more romantic than that.

I immediately decided to sacrifice it as an experience for Celestine, but not now. 

I don't know what's gonna happen to him. 

Will Celestine turn back into a card, or will she stay the same? 

It's too risky to do it in the woods; I'll do it when we're safe inside the city.

"Thank you again, Celestine. Let's continue, shall we?" I started walking again with Celestine behind me.

After taking a few steps, unbeknownst to us, the blood on the stone began to disappear as if it was erased from its existence.

"Of course, Regulus, with pleasure. May I ask what caused you to stumble over the tree roots?" Celestine asked in a curious tone.

"I just saw a big spider in front of my face, and it surprised me." I told him, slightly shifting my head to look at it. 

He gave me a slow nod in response that I thought was strange, but I didn't think much of it.

After that, I checked the remaining waifu on the list and eliminated all but five as the next one to call.

Yureka [Warrior] R - She has a lot of mana and stamina. 

He did not have a set of movements but could copy any technique when he saw it.

Kalawarner [Magical Warrior] R - He had many years of experience as a warrior who could fly and use holy magic.

Yomi [Warrior] R - Using a scythe to produce wind blades.

Slightly stronger than the average human, but once he kisses the Ashikabi (you), his full strength is temporarily unleashed. (USR)

Kanae Shinjou [Rogue] N - Assassin basic movements (Penopet, stealth, key retrieval)

Kagami Fubuki [Warrior] R - He is a novice enchanter and an apprentice user of Iaijutsu.

I checked my mana, and it showed that I had [110/120 MP]. 

I only need to wait another two minutes until full, but akj won't be able to call Rare cards for now, just Normal cards.

I then checked the accessories hoping I got something to improve my mana. 

What I found excited me.

I decided to give Celestine the Pendant Experience because she was my only Cleric, and, not to mention, with each level, she opened a new spell in the process.

"Here you go, Celestine. This is for you."

I said to him, handing Celestine the pendant. 

It was made of mithril. 

It has four main knots with smaller knots around it and a purple amethyst is secured in the middle of the knot.

"It's amazing." He said, taking her for a closer look as he opened it. 

Inside the pendant was a photo of the two of us that was automatically created.

Celestine stood in front of me, with me wrapping my arms around her, and smiling. 

He turned around, lifted his hair, and asked, "Can you help me wear this?"

"No problem." I said, taking back the locket, wrapping it around his neck, and closing the buckle.

She turned around after letting her hair fall down and asked nervously.

"How do I look?"

"You look beautiful" I said to her, which made her blush a little. 

He turned his face away with a small smile on his lips.

As for me, I used the main menu to complement Warlord's Tunic, Ring of Attractiveness, Ring of Frost, Locket of Intellect, and Ring of Defense.

With that pendant, I could call two cards; one Rare card and, in a few minutes, a normal card.

I'll call Yomi or Fubuki first, then Kanae in a few minutes. 

I wanted Yureka, but without any technique, she would just swing the sword like a stick. 

As for Kalawarner, he would most likely not listen to humans, so he came out.

[110+100\= 210/220 MP]

When I completed the locket, a new thought appeared in my head that I had not thought of before.

For example, I can expect an unlimited number of tickets for gacha without paying for them.

Or I could buy a million tickets for 1 Yen. 

I then thought about their flaws. 

Akj can only use tickets for a limited amount per day or month, or year.

Not to mention that I could have wished to call the waifu I wanted by using only one mana, but I needed to know all the waifu names if I tried to call them.

I shuddered in fear at the latter because there were too many names.

I shook my head, refocused on the situation at hand, ignoring the new thoughts that popped into my head, but one kept reappearing.

'Why don't we see other animals or monsters? 

Although I thought Aqua sent us somewhere without monsters, but no animals? 

That is impossible, not to mention we should have already left the forest by now if we were stationed near the city. 

Something's not right.' I thought to myself.

I began to notice the small details that I had neglected before. 

What worries me is that I just realized that we were passing through some of the same trees and the forest was completely silent.

I wanted to ask Celestine if she knew, but I kept quiet.

I don't want to warn the people watching us.

I stopped at a tree that was most likely the tree I tripped on earlier, "Ahh, let's take a break for a while, my feet are killing me." I said, sitting on the tree while patting the chair next to me for Celestine to sit down.

"Thank you, Regulus. My feet hurt a little because I walked too much. 

Do you have anything to eat?"

"Yes, I have something. Here it is." I gave him half of the [Moon Rabbit Soup] in a cup and took the other half. 

I kept looking around us. 

I slowly started drinking the soup.

"Thank you." He said, take a cup and sip it a little. 

"Hm, this is delicious." He stopped after taking another sip and moved his head to my shoulder. 

He started whispering to me. 

I nodded a little. 

I brought the cup closer to my mouth and whispered back, "We need to find a way to get out of the illusion. 

There's most likely a group that's doing this."

He nodded in agreement while chewing on a small piece of rabbit meat. 

"I'll cast a shield spell. It only lasted a few minutes, sir. So be prepared." He grabbed my arm, wrapped it around him as he drew a circle on the back of my hand. 

He quietly threw the Absorption Shield.

Absorption Shield - A spell that absorbs 25% damage.

Time: 2 mins

Cost: 100MP

I put down my cup, pretending to scratch my back while I quietly took out the Explosion Talisman. 

After a few more scratches, I moved my arm back and took my cup with the talisman in my hand.

"Here, use it when you find their location. 

It's an explosion spell, just insert a little mana and throw it." I muttered, giving him a spell, but we both suddenly froze.

'What!? I-I can't move.'

? ik?POV: (Previous minute)

"Come, Trerun. Let's go get them. I used my illusion to make them walk around in circles for a long time now. You know how most people sent here are weak; this is the best time to attack." Vogroz, a humanoid demon, begged on a small shadow figure with long ears standing next to two human teenagers.

"Not yet, that man... We have to be careful." The shadow figure spoke in a deep voice while his eyes glowed red. 

It immediately jumped into the light, indicating it was the same rabbit from before. 

It sniffed the air with its little pink nose before it glared at Regulus.

"Well, you're just jealous because you can't curl up in that woman's giant bazooka like that guy. Don't worry; I'll tell you what it's like." Tatsukichi, one of the humans said, made Trerun freeze because he was caught.

Vogroz looked at his boss in shock while the other human, Keiji, chuckled, then he tried to hide it with a cough, but it didn't work.

"You stupid fool! How dare you tarnish my good name! Just do your job for the demon lord, goddamn man." Trerun stuttered in anger, wanting nothing but to kill him, but he held back. 

Tatsukichi is useful for finding rare items and treasures, but he will enjoy eating his flesh when the human stops being valuable.

As for Keiji, that human made him a little scared.

"Give up, Bun Bun," Tatsukichi said mockingly, ignoring the sharp gaze directed at him as he looked towards Keiji, who nodded in agreement.

"Let's see..." Tatsukichi began to say, his eyes shining light yellow as he looked at them, "Wow, that man is a walking treasure warehouse, and that woman has some treasures on her. He most likely got it. from the man, so he must have special abilities."

"Good, good. The demon lord will be pleased. The last few transmigrants had weapons that only they could use, and it was annoying to erase their memories of our encounter. 

Do your job, Keiji and remember, paralyze them, not poison them." Trerun smiled wickedly as he looked at the last human.

Keiji scratched his head, sighing boredly as he let his unique skill slowly spread from him towards the two people sitting on the floor.

Even a few seconds later, Regulus and Celestine froze in the middle of the movement. 

Before they could start panicking, the bushes that were 12 feet away from them started rustling. 

Not long after, the demon and the rabbit appeared.

Tatsukichi who turned invisible slowly began to move forward, first to capture someone to serve as a hostage. 

She decided on Celestine because she wanted to touch her giant melon and pissed Trerun off.

'Irinarah was digging for gold when she made Keiji fall in love with her, a very useful tool.' Trerun thought to himself. He started bragging, though, 

"Haha, stupid, you fell into my trap. You didn't think a cute bunny would be a demon, did you? You'll regret throwing that stone at me when I'm done with you, man."

"Yes yes. Do you think the demon lord won't know about you guys coming here?! From the beginning, he knew. He is very smart and plans to use you for his own purposes. What else do you think?" Vogroz bragged, jumping around in excitement. 

She would definitely be promoted, and many female demons would flock to her.

"Now we will see if you are worthy of joining the demon lord army or as an experience. Well, one of you for the other, it'll be a lot more fun for the army." Trerun spoke in a threatening tone.

"..." - ".I tried to say something, but nothing came out.

I glared at my open hand, trying to think of a way to use the blast talisman, but nothing came to mind.

Celestine, on the other hand, calmed down as she slowly began to move her hand closer to mine.

He picked it up and waited for them to get closer.

Trerun moved a few more feet as he was about to explain how Regulus would be used by the army when suddenly, Celestine stood up and threw something towards them. 

It started to glow before it exploded.

"A-wh..." Trerun stuttered in shock, with the others widening their eyes.

THE EXPLOSION!

After the explosion, I crashed into a tree, feeling the wind blowing into my face like something was breaking like glass. 

Celestine, on the other hand, landed on his back after rolling twice.

For the next two seconds, I could see dark spots, and I could hear nothing. 

Akj thought I felt Celestine move closer towards me. 

He touched my shoulder, most likely chanting a spell, allowing me to regain my senses and movements. 

"Ahh, thank you, Celestine. That's scary."

"Together, Regulus, but the explosion was stronger than I thought." Celestine told me, looking at the dust cloud caused by the explosion.

[2,800XP Obtained!]

[Increased! x 7]

(Thunk, thunk) *falling item*

'What? I thought, puzzled for a moment, before I turned pale, trembling to the source of the explosion.

Akj felt my eyes widen in shock at the scene before me, and a severed hand landed a few feet away from me among the other small pieces; black burning and like a charred scorch. 

I felt bile coming out of my stomach, but I pushed it back forcefully.

"Master, please don't look. Just look at me, and let's get out of here." Celestine begged me. 

She moved my face towards him, giving me a sad look in her eyes.

I didn't say anything, but I knew someone might still be alive. 

I need answers. 

Shakingly I got up and walked towards the explosion. 

As I walked, I felt Celestine grabbing my hand, squeezing it as we walked.

The dust eventually disappeared, and I saw the consequences. 

The hole was quite wide and deep with many pieces burning with an odor that I ignored.

What surprised me was that there was a body lying in the bushes behind that was badly burned but still intact. 

Keiji only lost his right hand, and his skin was charred.

I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my nerves for what I should do next. 

I arrived at his body and grabbed his burning clothes.

"Tell me, how do you know Aqua's teleportation?!"

"Thanks, uhooh! B-ba-bastards. Y-You won't get anything from me." Keiji screamed in pain and glared at me hatefully.

"Tell me!!" I shouted in anger before Celestine grabbed my arm with a frown on her face.

*Tuib*

I grimaced at the bloody spit that landed on my face. 

I rubbed my cheek, looked into her green eyes as she said her last words, "A.I.would.would.ke..."

I dropped his corpse to the ground and stared at the sky, only to realize that this world was nothing like in an anime or a light novel. 

It's real and dangerous.

I gasped as I felt Celestine embrace me. 

I felt my knees weaken, forcing both of us to kneel while tears fell on my face.
