The next day Sarah, who was having breakfast with her husband, looked at Samuel. "Darid you later remember if there was an appointment with doctor Adzani?" tanyanya reminded me.
Samuel looked at Sarah expressionlessly as he always did. She always shows her flat expression when talking to Sarah is so inversely proportional to Sarah's expression that is always cheerful even though in her heart she always wonders why her husband's attitude changed.
"You work today? ask Samuel then.
Sarah nodded. "But my practice will be finished at eleven in the afternoon. Do you want me to wait for you at home or do you just come straight to the hospital and we meet with Dr Adzani?"
Samuel looked at Sarah, then shook his head "No need to go home, you just wait for me in the hospital. I'll come as soon as your practice is over!"
Sarah was pleased. "Yes, then" he answered. Sarah and Samuel had not been out with her husband for a long time and enjoyed the fresh air together.
The clink of the spoon and fork on Samuel's plate then stopped just as the man finished his breakfast. He nodded once at Sarah and got up from his chair. The man stepped out of the dining table without saying anything more. Sarah who looked at Samuel could only be stunned.
Every morning he always gets the same treatment that Samuel always works without saying goodbye to him. Even the man never kissed her forehead like he used to when they were just getting married.
And that's why Sarah thinks Samuel has changed...
"Just wait!" said Sarah who then ran after her husband because she realized that Samuel left an important map on the dining table.
Samuel turned around and looked at Sarah with a look of hatred. "Otherwise?! Didn't we agree to meet in the hospital?!"
Sarah suddenly trembled. "It's not... I just wanted to say that you left this!" sarah said as she handed the map to Samuel.
The man was a little surprised and felt guilty because in fact Sarah only intended to return the map she left accidentally on the dining table. Covering his guilt Samuel then grabbed the map and thanked him.
"Then I'll go first!" samuel said for the first time in months they never said goodbye to each other when they wanted to get out of the house.
Sarah's smile is perfect. He was so happy when Samuel said this. "Ah yes, have a good day. Be careful on the road!" sarah said, waving her hand until Samuel disappeared behind the wheel of his car.
Samuel realized that Sarah's attitude had never changed. The woman was always warm and pleasant Sarah was also a good listener when spoken to. Sarah never complained when Samuel faced any problems.Ever time Samuel almost bankrupt because his office friends deceived him so that the company he led suffered a considerable loss.
Sarah never really left him. The woman always held her hand and never said anything bad to Samuel. At that time Sarah could have left him and looked for another man who was better for her than she was, a man who was useless and could only be unemployed for a long time.
Sarah remained by his side. The woman never talked about the office when Samuel didn't want to talk about it. Sarah deeply appreciated Samuel's feelings and privacy. And that makes him proud to have a wife like her.
But this time Samuel could not do the same for Sarah. When everyone asked about Sarah who was not pregnant, Samuel darkened his eyes slowly he began to ignore Sarah. Samuel knew that Sarah was always trying to make him come back as cheerful as ever. To be honest, he can't do anything. He was so weak in the face of other people's speech that he became very bad. He really wants a child and for now Sarah has not been able to grant his request. So Samuel committed to ignoring his wife a little. At least it was a reply that he also felt as a result of heartache due to the words of people.
Samuel's car was driving slowly. Until then the phone call on his phone makes it ring quite loud. Samuel immediately raised the call which in fact came from his mother, Lila Harsono.
"Hello, Mommy!" samuel's greeting began the conversation.
"I'm good, Mom. How's Mom doing?" samuel asked a little worried because he thought his mother was sick and called.
"Good news. You're at home?" ask Lila later.
"No, I was in the car going to the office."
"Are you with Sarah now?"
"No, I left in my own car. Sarah was delivered by the driver. Our workplaces are different directions!" samuel was at length.
"Oh then I must be bothering you. You just leave, how about it call you back later?"
"Not bothering. What's wrong?"
Lila nodded at the end of the phone. "It just so happens that there's no wife. Actually nothing matters. I just wanted to tell you that yesterday I just got together with my Arisan friends. There I met up with high-class women and the wife of the office. They were really excited when they told me about their son-in-law and grandchildren. Mothers can only shut up and listen to their babbling. I'm so envious, you know!"
Samuel did not understand his mother's intentions. "Then why?"
"Why then, how? Why don't you give me a grandchild. Doesn't Sarah want to have children because she's busy as a doctor?"
"It's not so, Mother. But I was busy taking care of the office and Sarah was also having a very busy practice schedule. So what's wrong with delaying momongan first?" samuel lied to his mother.
Lila who did not believe the sentence of her only son could only grieve. "You don't have to lie to Mom and defend Sarah. You know you want a child, right? But Sarah can't give you offspring, can she? Because she's barren so she's not pregnant."
Samuel massaged the base of his nose with one free hand. He did not expect his mother to be able to read and know what he was thinking. Not wanting to lie to his mother, Samuel said, "It's not that we can't give a mother's offspring but we're trying."
"Mother knows that all this time you were actually also caught off guard right because you didn't have a descendant? Don't you feel ashamed when your friends ask you how many kids you've had? Mothers who listen to the stories of their friends about their grandchildren can only stroke their chest and feel a little insinuated!"
"Mother, there's nothing I need to worry about. Everything will be fine!"
"Sup to you. But if Sarah's not pregnant, shouldn't you divorce her?"
"Mother what the hell? Why do I have to talk there?"
"Because in the household the most important thing is the presence of a child and if your wife is barren, you have the right to find another woman who can give you offspring and that's natural!"
"Here's Mother. I'll call you later see you!"
