20 Years Adrift
Chapter 92. Grieved

After getting approval from Aira, Affan also recounted the bitter incident experienced by Aira. He has promised to say honesty, including his feelings. At the beginning of her marriage, Affan and Aira had no feelings at all.

Although Affan told the story briefly but he did not miss the details of the story. Aira was no longer crying like she used to when she remembered her life story. What he felt right now was his longing for his mother's father.

"Thank you for sharing your story. Though I do not know you well, I do believe that what you say is true. Within a week of living with Om the Great and Aunt Reni, I already knew what their nature was like. Aunt Reni has never been sweet to Om the Great and also to me. He also did not hesitate to ask me for money to buy their needs. If not prevented by Om Agung when Aunt Reni was not at home, maybe all my money has been given to him. I feel sorry for Om the Great but I don't know how to help him." Ali looks sad.

"You better think about your future, brother. Let me be the victim of their greed. All my parents' possessions have been sold out but they won't keep me. They were even impressed to sell me. If you want to work here you better rent a separate place to live with them." Aira expressed her opinion.

Affan also agrees with him. Actually she wanted to offer him a job but she was afraid to mention him considering Ali was only a Junior High graduate. To work in his office, at least have to pass the High School that only works as an OB.

"While I was thinking. The cost of living here is quite expensive. Maybe I'll just go back to Borneo because I'm used to living there. It feels very difficult to adjust in a new environment without the support of anyone," said Ali who indirectly stated if he needed help.

Aira looked at Affan expectantly. Although he was his wife but he did not dare to ask her to accommodate his brother in his company. Even more so with the lack of experience from Ali.

As if understanding the meaning of Aira's gaze, Affan nodded his head.

"If you want, you can work in my company as an OB. You can go straight to work and not have to send a cover letter." Affan saw seriousness on Ali's face.

"I want to, sir. When can I start working?" ask Ali.

"Don't tell this to, Om the Great and Aunt Reni. Kak Ali better find a contract first. If it is difficult, just start working. There's a lot of boarding around Mas Affan's company." Aira did not want Ali later to be manipulated and blackmailed by Agung and Reni.

Ali agreed with what Aira said. He looked very excited and wanted to find a boarding place today as well. However, Ali was not used to living in the city and did not know the direction.

Although not asked, Affan also felt unbearable. He asks the company driver to come and deliver Ali looking for boarding houses around his company. Incidentally there are some employees who also live in the boarding house so that they can leave together later.

Ali thanked him and left the hospital after the driver who picked him up came. His long life finally found a solution. However, after this he still had to face Agung and Reni to say goodbye.

Whatever their response, Ali still had to leave the house. Her life has not been sweet all this time. With great difficulty he collected money. Ali does not want Agung and Reni to take all his property and expel him as he did to Aira.

After Ali's departure, Aira again billed Affan's promise to go see Hana. As before, Affan had to ask the Dharma Doctor for permission before entering Hana's room. They should also be accompanied by a doctor when in the room.

This afternoon the Dharma Doctor is off duty. In the guard room was Doctor Bagas who replaced him. After requesting permission, Affan and Aira go to Hana's room accompanied by Doctor Bagas.

"Dear, whatever you see, never make you sad. Excessive feelings of guilt will make you depressed and not good for your womb. Everything that happened to Hannah became God's decree. It is possible that with the disease he is suffering from today, God wants to cleanse his past sins." Affan advised Aira in the middle of their journey.

"Yes, Mas. Hana still has a good side. Hopefully when given a second chance, she can become a dignified woman." Aira looks stronger than ever.

Affan.

The distance between Doctor Bagas' guard room and Hana's treatment room is quite far. They took a little while to get there. While on the way, they saw something was not right.

Several doctors ran towards Hana's room including the doctor who was in charge of monitoring Hana's condition for 24 hours alternately. Bagas doctor also ran to catch up with them leaving Affan and Aira. This confusing state of affairs left Affan and Aira wondering.

"Mas," call Aira with a face that looks sad.

Her heart felt bad to see many doctors running into Hana's room.

"Patience, yes. We'll wait right here. We must not enter carelessly even though it was previously allowed. Let the doctors work quietly." Affan brought Aira over and they sat facing Hana's treatment room.

After about half an hour passed, a doctor came out of Hana's room followed by other doctors who also came out one by one from there. Affan immediately went to meet them to ask how Hana was doing. Aira tried to be patient and remained waiting in her place.

"How's Hana doing, Doc?" ask Affan when he was in front of Doctor Bagas.

"What's going on, Doc?" ask Affan who still does not understand the meaning of the head of Doctor Bagas.

"I'm sorry, sir. We've been trying to do our best. But it seems like God wills something else. Miss Hana's life can't be saved anymore." Doctor Bagas spoke in a heavy voice.

As a doctor he also felt failed because he did not succeed in saving patients. However, everything that happened was beyond his limits. As an ordinary man he can only try and pray while the results are still God decisive.

Affan could not imagine how Aira felt after learning about the news of Hana's death. It was possible that Aira had already heard it given the distance between them was quite close. He then walked over grubbily to Aira who kept looking at him.

Before Affan said anything, Aira's tears had fallen and wet her cheeks. He had already heard what the doctor had said with Affan. In the midst of her grief she tries to sincerely let go of Hana.

"We have to be sincere. Maybe this is the way. We'll take care of everything and take care of the kids. They don't know shit. Let's just hope Sarah's steadfast to let go of her mother." Affan spoke in a heavy voice.

Water can only transport. Her lips are hard to move. At this moment his heart really felt very sad.

They leave for the last time to see Hana in her room. There were still two doctors who cleaned the tools that had been released from Hana's body when Affan and Aira came there.

Aira opened the cover of Hana's face and looked at her so calmly as if she was asleep. His face looked very clean like there was no sadness there. Her lips lifted up a little like she was smiling.

They only saw him for a moment because they could not bear his sadness. After this Affan will inform Bella and discuss the funeral for Hana. If he agrees, Affan wants Hana buried today.

Aira's body condition has not fully recovered so it must be often rested. Luckily Faya soon comes to accompany him because Affan has to take care of things. Hospital and funeral administration should be taken care of quickly.

Faya accompanied Aira and calmed her down.

"Hana was willing to lose her life to save me, Faya. I feel indebted to him. I promise to take care of and raise Sarah and Sapphira like my own children." Aira was still sobbing thinking about the fate of Hana's young children.

"I've always supported your good intentions, Ma. We'll take good care of them. Hopefully, they grow into children who are righteous so that they can become successful people later on. Aunt Hana would have been so happy to see that her two daughters did not lack affection." Faya's thinking is also in line with Aira's thinking.

Affan takes care of everything himself because he does not dare to disturb Bimo who may be currently dizzy taking care of the company alone. Moreover, it is nearing the end of the month, where a lot of reports coming in from branch companies. Maybe, tomorrow morning Affan also can't go to the office if Bella does not approve of Hana's funeral this afternoon.

As Affan was waiting in line for the administrative repayment up ahead, he was suddenly startled by the arrival of someone.

"Hi! I am no stranger to your face? Have we met before?" asked the man while looking at Affan's face.

"The word!" peekik Affan's.

"Em, your name is Affan, yes, if it's not wrong?"

"Yes, right. How are you doing? Where do you live now?" ask Affan.

"Thank God I'm fine. But not with my wife's best friend, I heard she died today. May his good deeds be accepted and his sins forgiven." The word looks sad.

Just now that Affan wanted to ask about something else, the person he knew so well reappeared. It was unexpected that a tragedy brought him together with an old friend who had fought together. A very rare coincidence where Firman turns out to be Bella's husband.

"Good afternoon, Mrs Bella," Affan said when Bella got to the Word.

Firman looked confused when Affan had known his wife before he introduced her.
