...The warning!...
...There were scenes of violence and excess blood. It is expected to be wise to choose a good read. Whatever happens to the reader after reading this novel is out of the author's responsibility....
...…...
The wind blew fiercely blow dust on the vast barren land, the hot sun that afternoon felt very hot burning skin. The dead city in the middle of the arid expanse of land seems deserted, there is no activity done there by civilians.
All they see are armed men. They were in various places, on the street, on top of buildings, up to the front of the border. The weapons they use are various, ranging from swords, daggers, arrows, axes, hammers, to various types of firearms. They all stood guard in their respective positions, preparing for the danger that would soon arrive.
The ninja-clad leader in black-purple clothes stood at the top of one of the tall buildings near the city border, watching the edge of the arid area through binoculars. Until this moment, there was no sign of the emergence of the danger in question.
Too bad. If there are no signs of its appearance, then their ‘pancingan’ has failed so far.
“Beta Vardo, what Alpha plan is not too excessive?” ask one of the followers standing next to him. “Only for fishing, need to do an extreme plan it?”
“It's been a decision from the Alpha.” The ninja man named Vardo lowered his binoculars, still staring straight ahead with his green eyes. “If I am a bit disgusted by the initial plan, maybe it is the only way for the target to really be hooked.”
Vardo was watching through binoculars again. “Targets typical figures that are not easily drawn in our traps. Therefore, the way from Alpha has the most powerful opportunity to increasingly pull it into the trap.”
“What if the trap this time doesn't work anymore?”
Vardo narrowed his eyes. “Definitely succeeded. Only, there will be many lives to be at stake.”
The follower bowed stiffly. What his boss said was true. The target this time was no ordinary creature, he was extremely terrifying, even more terrifying than any monster.
In this trapping mission, around a dozen thousand personnel from the five Killing Guilds were deliberately deployed in order to subvert this one danger alone.
Their targets are known to be the most feared creatures on some planets. Already many Guilds had been conquered with just his strength alone, he had even torn down the Assassins Alliance and killed two Sigma, that was, the highest standing as the leader of the Assassins Alliance.
It does. The target has a higher power than a Sigma-based killer. That's the scariest thing.
I don't know what the Alpha and Beta were planning to do to lure the target here. This is tantamount to feeding one predator to fat.
Before returning to watch, Vardo had reached into a rifle bullet from his pocket. The bullet was not an ordinary bullet, but rather a bullet filled with a special liquid. It can be known through droplets of gray liquid coming out a little from the end of the bullet.
“I have three bullets. Means...” Vardo clasped the bullet tightly. “I have little chance to knock him out.” Then he put the bullet back in his pocket.
Vardo watched from a distance. There was nothing on that stretch of dry land other than some giant monster roaming around. Suddenly something surprising happened.
The giant-sized monsters were smashed apart by something big there. Vardo lowered his binoculars, his eyes widening in disbelief as he saw the target coming while taking out all monsters of various sizes he passed, running as fast as lightning towards the dead city they were in.
“Si Devil appears..,” muttered Vardo.
Hearing his words, the follower immediately gave a warning to the other personnel. “Si Devil has appeared! Get ready in the position kal—.”
Not yet had the warning been echoed, something happened in an instant.
The target they called the Devil shot far towards them, leaping high in the air. Driven by the blazing rays of the sun, his hands were crossed making the muscles of his wrists and arms were enlarged with prominent veins. Both of his big hands tightly held the handle of the two blades of the red machete.
Just as he was plunging fast, he swung the two machets tightly, forming a scythe slash made of blood, stretching long until it slashed through the entire building of various sizes that existed in the dead city. Not just buildings, half the number of dead assassin personnel were hit by those deadly slashes.
Debris of buildings fell, tormented screams echoed loudly, spouts of blood and flesh rained heavily on parts of the city. It all happened with less than one blink of an eye.
Not yet turned around, Vardo was unmoved in his position. Luckily the building he occupied did not fall. But the incident that happened in that instant was enough to shock him.
He had not expected the strength of their target to be this terrifying.
“Be-Beta…. Our member..”.
The words of the follower managed to disperse his feelings of shock. Vardo turned around, looking at the state of the city down there. Looks very concerning. Buildings collapsed, streets were destroyed filled with blood and pieces of flesh.
The Devil landed right in the middle of the road. Making the ground of the road was destroyed so hard he landed. Then he roared loudly to make the whole city shake.
“Haaaarrrggghhh!!”
All the assassins who were still left because they were lucky to be able to avoid his great slash earlier began to bravely surround him. They all only dared to take an attacking position, but none of them took the initiative to start a fight. A little afraid of them taking movement because their target form is different from before the current incident.
The devil is a grown man. His body was tall, bare-chested showing his large, veined muscles. His hair was long messy, bright red in color. However, what makes it look unusual is the black-redness color found on the legs, hands, and head to neck. His eyeballs were blackened with bright silver irises.
From that form the Devil really looks like a real demon. They thought he would arrive with his normal form.
Vardo was also surprised by the form of his target. Facing the Devil in such a monstrous form was beyond plan. If this is the case, the trap plan still has to be carried out according to the orders of the Alphas of the five Killing Guilds.
“We can't retreat anymore.” Vardo gave the order. “Do attack!”
“Hoooaaa!!”
“Haaarrrghhh!!”
All the assassins cheered, starting to launch their attacks simultaneously. The Devil easily managed to repel every attack. Several bullets fired from various firearms also he fielded by twirling fast both of his machetes.
The turn of the Devil attacked using agile and powerful movements. Several times the assassins tried to resist his attacks, but instead ended up with the body chopped away by him.
A burst of blood spread in the air as the Devil's slash was launched, more and more casualties fell. Furious as a raging beast, the Devil roared again.
Two assassins attacked together using swords. The attack he could withstand using a machete, pushed, then he swing cut the legs of the two murderers to kneel, then stab the two faces so deep.
Several assassins attacked again. When the two knives were removed from the faces of the two assassins he killed, the blood and chunks of meat were automatically fused with the machete, making the size of the two weapons so much larger. Then, he ransacked the assassins.
“His style sucks the blood and flesh of the body of a dead person?” asked the follower in shock, standing beside Vardo. “What is his Ru Element? I thought it was just blood.”
“The Ru element belongs to him is not just blood.” Still observing through the top of the building, Vardo slightly explained, “Blood, flesh, and organs of the body of living things are the source of the element. From what I observed, he used blood more often as a form of attack, the flesh from the corpses was used to strengthen his weapon.”
The explanation from Vardo sounded hyperbole. Just hearing it makes the follower afraid, especially while looking at the fight of the person in question below. There were already many dead, blood mixed with flesh and bones almost flooded the city streets, looking like a flood of red mud.
Seems to have watched him enough. Vardo must immediately take action as planned. He grabbed the rifle that was attached to the back, loaded the liquid-filled bullet into the rifle, and then cocked it.
“He was able to tear down the sky of Dremara, but the parable will never materialize as long as we still have a chance to paralyze it,” said Vardo began aiming at the target.
Vardo's eyes tried to aim at the Devil through the scope of the rifle, but it was difficult to aim at him because the target moved very quickly. When he tried to shoot, his shot missed.
“Sialan.” Vardo. “I only had one chance to knock him out. One more bullet still needs to be saved for even more important things.”
Vardo turned his head, seeing the follower still standing watching beside him with a body trembling in fear. If this follower was still attached near Vardo, then there was no point in him in the Guild.
“You attack.”
“A-what?” The followers were surprised.
“You can't just stand watching here like a coward, can you?” vardo said casually. “I'm here also have a job. If you still remain here, you are completely useless in the Guild. But if you join the fight, and are able to contribute to defeating the Devil, I can convince Alpha to upgrade to Gamma or Delta.”
Hearing Vardo's words made the follower feel ashamed and afraid. What Vardo said was right. His position in the Guild was merely as an Omega. If he did not come into action, then he was considered useless within the Guild. He can move up the ranks to Gamma or Delta if he is able to defeat the Devil.
However, on the other hand the follower was also afraid, he still loved life. The power of the Devil he saw now was terrifying. Many comrades from the Omega to Delta positions died at his hands easily. If he still did not dare to act, Vardo would continue to try to corner him.
Damn, any position is not profitable at all. But, there is no harm in trying. Fortuna might be on his side.
“Heeaaargh!!!”
The follower immediately jumped into the battle arena while preparing to slash using an axe. Seeing that there was an impromptu attack, the Devil dodged a bit, making the follower land with an axe slashing the ground.
While shouting incoherently, the follower tried to slash the Devil with irregular movements. But in the end, he died being cut in half by the Devil's machete.
“Meh. Already expected, useless until the end,” paltry Vardo flat.
While fighting to kill the assassins, the body of the Devil almost got shot by a sniper rifle from a distance if only he had not shifted away. Following the direction the bullet came from, the Devil found several shooters attempting to shoot him using sniper rifles over the remaining tall buildings.
Attacking from afar does not mean that it is safe from counterattacks.
The Devil kicked a pool of blood nearby until the drops flew into the air. The blood drops hardened into blood stones with sharp edges. With orders from the movement of one machete, the blood stones shot far towards the shooters, piercing their bodies and destroying buildings there.
Some of the survivors dodged while trying to shoot the Devil, but the Devil re-created the blood stones, hurling them at them until there was no more gunner left.
As the Devil focused on his distant attack, the assassins around tried to attack from behind.
“Heeaaauurrrgh!!”
Roaring loudly, the Devil's reflexes turned around while giving the blood sickle-shaped wave slash again until some of the dead assassins were cut off, the rest could still dodge.
“He is really hard to touch,” said one of the killers who had started to get tired.
“Even when he focuses on attacking a long-range attacker,” said his colleague.
Again the Devil prepared to give another unexpected attack. He twirled the two machetes, creating dozens of replicas of machetes made of flesh and blood that floated around him. After all the replicas were created, it was unexpected that the Devil made a two-goal silat movement to control a dozen of his machetes.
Using all those replicas, the Devil slashed at the assassins. Realizing the attack, several assassins attempted to restrain and evade. But eventually, they instead died chopped, split, slashed to pieces of flesh and bone drenched in blood.
“Unexpectedly, today there are still those who control Element Ru using martial techniques,” comments Vardo, then again trying to aim. “If it's like this, he's getting harder to shoot. I have to find a gap or a moment when he is off guard.”
The Devil continued to fight slaughtering the endless murderers attacking him. Unfortunately, his dexterity could not last long.
When the Devil's hand almost swung a cleaver towards a long blonde woman surging, his body immediately pecked. Instantly a very imprinted memory in the heart appears at the wrong time.
The color and shape of a woman's hair is similar to someone's.
“I'm glad to know you.”
That sweet smile she will never forget.
Seeing the Devil suddenly take it for granted, made it an opportunity for Vardo. He smiled, ready to pull the trigger.
“Gotcha, Darling.”
One shot managed to hit the Devil's back, leaving his body paralyzed instantly and his energy felt lost just like that.
Not getting there. Vardo unsheathed the sword, darted rapidly towards the Devil, then slashed his head until blood spurted heavily out from the neck and head of the Devil who was loose.
“Anybody, keep his head off his body!” vardo's command after landing and re-sheathing the sword.
Suddenly dozens of greenish-black tendrils shot out from the Devil's neck hole, about to approach his head. According to Vardo's orders, some assassins immediately distanced the body and head of the Devil. Before the tendril was further elongated, Vardo blocked it, firing a bullet filled with his last liquid right at the tendril.
Instantly appeared a shadow circle containing ancient writings in the presence of all tendrils. Faintly heard a heavy voice from there, saying an annoyance.
“Stupid basis!”
The shadow circle vanished, making all the tendrils from the Devil's large body crumble into pieces of minced flesh covered in blood.
Vardo and all the remaining assassins are trying to catch their breath, exhausted by the tension they are experiencing in this life fight. In the end, their plan succeeded in crippling, or rather killing the Devil.
“Finally, also sort out the plans of the Alpha bastards,” snic Vardo exasperated with his breath up and down.
One of the Beta from the other Guild representatives came over. “What do we do about the corpse of this Devil, Beta Vardo?”
Vardo saw the body and head of the Devil alternately. If the plan has been successfully executed, then what else must be done?
“Back to the Haxona Guild, and instantly bring his head and body to the lab.”
