Mardinal: The Assassin's Adventure

Mardinal: The Assassin's Adventure
Chapter 24: Yatshuhama Guild and the Devil

Hearing Mardin's words certainly made Uncle Rom very surprised. In fact, the middle-aged man could not believe that his comrade was still alive and there was a possibility that it was being sealed by the five Midra Seals.

Uncle Rom knew very well about the seal. The seal has a function to help absorb Ru Energy from the Matros Machine and eliminate any side effects of excessive energy use. He thought, The Midra Seal is just a story of old times that will never exist today.

But in fact, Mardin's father became his victim.

“Emm. Then, sit down first, Mardin. Let's just have a good talk,” friendly bargain Uncle Rom.

Uncle Rom and Mardin began to sit in the front seat of the bartender's desk. Mardin's facial expression looked more serious than usual. What they're going to talk about is his father's safety. This was taken seriously by Mardin.

“You want to drink something?” bargain Ranma behind the bartender's desk as he looked at Mardin's tense face.

“Eh? I ‘kan work here,” said Mardin sungkan.

“You don't have to hesitate, Mardin. It doesn't taste good without drinking.” Uncle Rom began ordering drinks for his son. “Two soda glasses for both of us, Ranma.”

“Good, Father.”

Since Mardin was 17 years old, he was still not allowed to drink alcohol. Uncle Rom, therefore, ordered only soda.

In fact, Mardin used to drink alcoholic beverages without Uncle Rom's knowledge. But if it's in front of Uncle Rom like this, Mardin must behave like a good boy. Can be serious if it is discovered that Mardin has several times drank alcohol.

Two glasses of glass were placed on the table, poured Ranma soda of medium size into the two glasses, then pushed slowly in front of Mardin and Uncle Rom.

“Thank you, Bang,” said Mardin with a smile.

“Hm.” Ranma just nodded flatly, walking to the other side of the table to serve the buyer who was about to order a drink.

Now there were only the two of them sitting in the front seat of the bartender's table. The atmosphere of the bar was still not crowded enough, so it didn't matter if they talked about the matter as seriously as this.

“So...” Uncle Rom opened the conversation. “Someone told you your father was alive? And he asked you to save him immediately?”

Mardin drank a little of his soda. “Iya. Actually, he's not the one who asked. He was just trying to convey a request message from his teacher.”

“Teacher? So, the person who met you was a student?”

Mardin shrugged his shoulders for a moment. “It looks like so. He claimed to be from the Yatshuhama Guild, but has now been expelled from the Guild in order to meet me in this city. Actually, I want to ask you about this Yatshuhama Guild, Uncle. Did Dad have a relationship with this Guild so that his teacher could know about me and also Dad's situation?”

Uncle Rom turned his face while biting his lips. In fact, he knew very well which Guild-Guild had any relationship with Mardin's father in the past. Only, he did not tell Mardin all of that because of the request of Mardin's own father who did not want his son to be involved in the affairs of the assassins in the future.

“I... absolutely do not want my son to be involved with murderous world affairs. I want him to live in peace even though he is Ruzan.”

That was the sentence from Mardin's father that came to his mind. Uncle Rom still remembers how much Mardin's father wished for Mardin's safety. He did not want Mardin to fall into the same path as himself, becoming an assassin.

But all this has happened. Mardin had already become a killer due to the carelessness of his own father. Uncle Rom could only advise Mardin against getting involved with an overly serious affair with a group of assassins, especially against the Killer Guild.

Uncle Rom sighed. If it had come to this, of course he would have to tell Mardin the truth. Not everyone, just what Mardin wants to know.

“Actually, your father had indeed had a cooperative relationship with several Guilds, one of which was the Yatshuhama Guild. I also often accompany your father to cooperate with them.”

“What kind of cooperation, Uncle?” ask Mardin. “As I recall, Dad never joined any Guild. You used to be a Rogue too, didn't you?”

Uncle Rom replied, “If we are Rogue, we can still establish cooperation with other Guilds if we really need money to survive. We work as Provisional Members for those Guilds.”

“Members... While?”

Uncle Rom nodded, again explaining, “Members While is a position for an assassin outside the Guild to join a certain Guild on the agreement of both sides. Arguably, we are contracting with Guilds that need our services.”

“Cause Killer Guild needed Temporary Members because those Guilds lacked original members, had no time to recruit new members, whereas they desperately needed the help of other assassins in the crucial time.”

For a moment Uncle Rom touched the edge of his glass. “In the case of the Yatshuhama Guild, they came alone to us, pleading for cooperation. Even the princes had prostrated themselves to ask your father for help directly, Mardin. I saw it completely unexpected, a Killer Guild like Yatshuhama prostrated to your father for help.”

“They need your services for what?” tanya Mardin was increasingly interested in this topic of conversation.

Uncle Rom tried to remember. “For the war against the enemy Guilds for the sake of reclaiming their three cities of power. Before it was captured, the Yatshuhama Guild had four cities that they controlled. As a result of the war between the enemy Guilds, the Yatshuhama Guild lost three cities and thousands of many members were killed. The accident really made them immediately hit mentally. Hence, they are deeply begging your father's rock who is a Ruzan.”

Uncle Rom had to drink soda to wet his throat that began to dry, then put it back on the bartender's table. He also returned to telling stories.

“However strangely, Mard. Without needing to think long, your father immediately accepted their request. Of course I was confused by what your father really thought at that time to the point of daring to take rash action. In fact, your father is typical of people who find it hard to trust others.”

“Do you know why?”

Uncle Rom shook his head. “I... don't know at all. But I was forced to follow his decision because…. His name is also a friend, of course, must help each other.”

“Because your father was so great, the enemy Guild was successfully subverted. That one Guild was completely destroyed, its members were all killed unceremoniously by your father's attack, even its Alpha and Beta were killed at your father's hands.” Uncle Rom shook his head in disbelief as he recalled how terrifying Mardin's father's strength was. “She is really a killing machine.”

Mardin was quite stunned to hear the incredible story about his father's past. From the way Uncle Rom told the story along with his expression that was so tense, Mardin could guess that the father was really a very strong person in his time.

If only Mardin could witness the greatness of his father, maybe Mardin could learn from there.

“Need snack?”

“Eh?”

Mardin was somewhat jolted when she found Ranma putting a bowl of nuts near them as a snack. Seeing the two seem so tense chatting, Ranma took the initiative to provide a simple snack as a conversation partner.

“Thank you, Ranma.”

“Still, Bang.”

Ranma only replied with a flat nod. Then he walked away, back to his job.

“Empressed, Mard,” unsalted Uncle Rom accompanied by a smile.

“I-iya, Uncle.”

The two had eaten the nuts and drank soda before returning to chat.

“Terus, how does it go?” ask Mardin while eating beans.

“Yes, that's it. Your father's relationship with the Yatshuhama Guild was simply cooperation in helping us seize power. The rest, I don't know,” said Uncle Rom. “That's why the Yatshuhama Guild knows your father as well as you. They must have been aggressively finding out about you before.”

While eating the beans, Mardin thinks about why the Yatshuhama Guild knew his father was still alive, was sealed by the Midra Seal, and sent Mardin a request to free his own father.

“What do you think is the reason the Yatshuhama Guild told me about Dad's current situation? Though come to think of it, there is no benefit for them to know our situation.”

Uncle Rom slightly smiled.

“Obviously no luck.”
