The lights shone brightly in the conference hall, and there was a podium at the very front, around the room there was a buffet-style table for drinks and there were servants around the hall to help the guests.
"Quite a large number of people were in attendance for the conference, even the owners and senior executives of state-owned private companies and venture chain stores who joined in such as Kay Maroon, Carrefour, Somer Resources, TR-Mart, and others, and Somer United Stores is here today."
Dawson turned to tell Jasper before they walked through the door.
"Is something big going to happen to this industry? Why else would there be such a grand conference?"
Jasper knew that for at least 15 years until online shopping completely monopolized people's spending, the supermarket industry was always expanding.
In addition, its unique business model guarantees a large amount of cash flow to the supermarket industry, the supermarket is the only business that has creditors but does not have debtors.
It is a promising industry.
However, Jasper did not want to dabble in the industry for now as each industry had its own special techniques and Jasper did nothing unless he was absolutely sure of the outcome.
All he felt now was pure curiosity.
Dawson smiled. "I heard that they decided to develop standards in the industry for everyone to adhere to."
While Jasper did not work in the supermarket industry, he had dabbled in similar industries and immediately understood what this standard called.
It was basically a curse that the higher-ups wanted to bestow on their industry so that they could benefit by gathering as many resources as possible for themselves.
"They want it" replied Jasper weakly, not supporting him.
Developing standards in an industry is something that requires discussion across the country, competitors should not play as judges at all.
Dawson smiled without commitment. "Frightly so."
As they spoke, the two entered the conference room.
"Finally you're up, Dawson, I hear you've been doing your best with the real estate business lately, I almost thought that you wouldn't come because the supermarket industry is on a much smaller scale" a middle-aged man who approached them laughed as he spoke.
Dawson smiled and walked over, he reached out to shake the person's hand. "I started with the supermarket industry, so how could I just forget about it? There's no way I'm missing this conference."
"Here, let me introduce you, this is Jasper, my daughter Wendy's boyfriend."
"This is Mr. Chris Quarles! he's one of the big players in our industry, Jasper you might want to introduce yourself."
Under Chris' curious gaze, Jasper reached out humbly and greeted, "Hello, Mr. Quarles."
Chris reached out to shake Jasper's hand.
"Not bad, you have a promising talent, young man."
Jasper is a generation under him and is young, so Chris is not very focused on him, the fact that Chris greets him politely has spoken a lot.
He turned to make a joke with Dawson. "Your little girl has already decided on her marriage partner, Dawson? Even though my son is still in High School, I'll ask you to reconsider if he's not so young."
Dawson replied calmly, "I'll let the young decide this on their own, moreover, Jasper fits my needs."
Seeing how Dawson liked Jasper, Chris glanced at Jasper again but changed the subject.
His smile fell as he leaned towards Dawson anxiously. "I know what happened, Dawson, it's not in our favor at all."
Chris had just finished speaking when a powerful burst of laughter burst out from behind.
"If it wasn't Dawson from Schuler Group! I heard you almost cheated hundreds of millions? I told you, didn't I? We should know how valuable we are and not dabble in things we don't understand, look at yourself, why don't you listen? What is it with all these real estate businesses? No one's gonna pity you when you lose, you know."
