Jasper only chuckled while dealing with lan's anger. "I'm sorry, I don't seem to understand what you mean."
lan smashed her palm against the table violently, causing the snacks and wine on the table to splatter and scatter on the floor.
"Stop pretending to look innocent, Jasper. You were the one who leaked the news to the ICBS, right?! How else would they know about what happened in Harbor City if you didn't tell them?!"
"Now they're asking me to pay off the loan immediately too! Why else would they react so quickly if you didn't do anything?!"
lan glared at Jasper viciously. Anger burned a bright red on his chest, and he wanted to throw Jasper into the Harpoon River to feed the fish.
Jasper shrugged and replied coldly, "I have nothing to do with your bank and your loans."
"Bank admits that you broke the law and they want you to pay the loan in advance. That's a problem between you and the bank. What does this have to do with me?"
lan glared at Jasper coldly. If gazes could kill, Jasper would have died a thousand times in lan's hands by now.
"Don't be too proud, Jasper. It's just Somer's two billion dollar loan!"
"I'm lan Hull, there's no way I'm stopped with just a two billion loan. If you think you can win from me like this, then you can keep dreaming!"
Jasper finally moved in the face of lan's words.
lan watched Jasper arrogantly, waiting for a reaction.
He saw Jasper slowly take out a document and put it on the table.
"Treaty on the Transfer of Land Ownership."
Lan's eyes narrowed.
"I just bought a piece of land a few hours ago. Incidentally, the commercial building for the G.S.S Export Trade Limited Company happened to stand on that piece of land."
Jasper smiled at lan as his expression became tense and became extremely furious. "I think I just became your landlord."
At that moment, lan's heart narrowed.
The last thing he expected was for Jasper to find a way to pluck it out completely.
This piece of land belongs to ICBS, which intends to sell it.
lan was well aware of that fact.
A few months ago, Ian even contacted ICBS to buy this piece of land because he believed that this piece of land would be valuable.
Even if it was worthless, it remained that piece of land where his office building stood and he would not lose.
However, the ICBS had not made a decision at the time, nor had it agreed on a price, so the matter was left alone.
"The land is mine now, and in extension, so are all the commercial buildings on it. There's still a few months before your signed lease expires, isn't there, Mr Hull? It's okay, I'll pay the compensation according to the rental contract."
Jasper smiled and tapped on the contract lightly. "Just a few hundred thousand dollars. I can easily pay you that amount."
lan flushed abnormally, and her breathing became heavy as she stared at Jasper. Clenching his jaw, he curled from between his teeth.
"You're going too far, Jasper!"
Jasper waved his hand indifferently. "Now, I don't understand. You're the one who did all those horrible things. All I'm doing now is retaliating, so why are you accusing me of going too far?"
"Or are you saying it's my fault for being bullied by you, and I have to die because you want to?"
Jasper flipped his palm upwards. "What kind of logic is that?"
lan glared at Jasper, the anger in her eyes overflowing. "You're not good enough to offend the entire Haddock Chamber of Commerce!"
"This is my last warning. If you keep acting so stupid, you'll be the one dying in the ditch in the end!"
"Are you crazy or am I misheard, lan?"
Jasper looked at lan indifferently with a deep gaze.
"You're the one standing on the edge of the cliff right now, not me."
"I'll start thinking about how I should defend myself if I were you, not sitting here daydreaming."
"When your smuggling case is proven in Harbor City, your future will be set and there will be no place for you to run. What makes you think that you're the one who won here?"
lan chuckled and replied, "That's why I said you were too naive, Jasper. What if they still know? You think that means I have to take responsibility?"
"It's only 600 million, I can lose it! I still have the Haddock Chamber of Commerce. I'm still a member, and I can still start all over again!"
"And for the smuggling you're accusing me of, I don't know what you're talking about. I handed over every business transaction in my company to my confidant. Of course, he had to go to jail for breaking the law. But what does this have to do with me?"
lan looked at Jasper and tried to find the slightest hint of disappointment or frustration in his expression. However, he gave up in the end, as there was no change in Jasper's expression after lan's words.
"You're too naive, Jasper. What makes you think I'm doing everything myself? I've had a scapegoat since the beginning. So what if they know? It won't affect me anyway."
"Your plan was futile!"
"I'm lan Hull. I've been in the business world for decades. What makes you think a 20-year-old like you can compete with me, huh?”
lan suppressed the anger within her and sneered coldly.
Jasper simply smiled and took the contract on the table before stating calmly, "Please start thinking about moving on, Mr. Hull."
